So what are the current ‘cheap’ amazon specials for 3D printers? I want to print a gnome army.

FDM or SLA? Figurine people tend to prefer SLA.

Anycybic are outstanding value for both. Look at the Photon.

If you buy any anycubic it'll be easy to assemble and it will work unlike the majority of cheap kits.
