  • Can’t tell any difference tbh. Have read some people say the blue 58 is a different shade of steel but apparently Tudor have said it’s the same and just the colours of the bezel and dial that reflect a different hue.

  • Yeah I was aware of that, apparently brighter looking steel on the BB58 Blue. With every Tudor I have had on a steel bracelet, the bracelet has had a very slight warmer brownish hue to the steel, as I say, slight but definitely there. Thought it maybe to do with various brushing techniques but the finishing looks the same style brushing as areas of the case.

  • SteelDive do one for a lot less

  • I found the blue version is more ''cold'' looking. One of the reasons I sold my first one. Then I had the black, but didn't really like it as much. I think I've seen it too many times online and it's sort of boring to me. Great looking watch, mind... Now I'm back with the blue and can't see it going anywhere, to me, that's the future classic.

Lovely looking timex @DanM. Amazing shot @panic

@inchpincher definitely in love with it, looks quite shiny sometimes, but feels right. I helped my friend roll out the grass in his garden today, so first day with the watch - covered in soil, washed in the sink. Must be a keeper. The size is perfect too, scratches my MM itch for sure.

  • Gone

  • Dat Green.

  • You look like a child there

    Lol

  • Not sure if this dude is listening to our conversations....

    But smaller wrist Divers

    Ed, your vostok first?

  • Now I see it actually. And it annoys me

  • Ed, your vostok first?

    No captioning sadly.

The Vostok is the smallest biggest dive watch I own! Helped by the 18mm lug.

  • Is weird.

    Someone needs to Googlefu.

Even prevalent on my TI diver...

  • As I say, been the same on every model I've had, just assumed that others were aware of it and that's how it's always been as I've never read any article highlighting it. It must be a manufacturing thing?? As I've never owned a Rolex, can others confirm that this is not the same on Rolex models?? From what I've seen online it doesn't appear to be. I know the brushing is parallel on the bracelet and diagonal on the lugs but I still don't think this would effect the colour perception to the eye that much?? That's why id like the Rolex feedback if possible (316 Vs 904) not sure on how much the finishing standard differs between the two.

  • It's weird, I felt the same about the BB58 black, thought it was a bit lack luster but when I saw a customer in store wearing it, it really popped. Yet to confirm my feelings on the blue version.

  • Hope I've not ruined everyone's Tudor appeal :/

  • It’s an odd one. Must be how different type of brushing reflects the light differently. I don’t think it’s a “different colour” as such.
Here, I’ve dug out some old photos. The brushing on the Rolex looks virtually identical on the case and bracelet.

  • Found this in the back of a filing cabinet.. my wife’s from decades back .. barely worn. I assume these fetch the same as a similar vintage Rolex.

  • Really appreciate the photos! Interesting, both the Rolex lugs and bracelet are brushed in a straight format and the Tudor lugs diagonal and the bracelet is straight.

As my Tudor is off at Harrods, would you say the brushing on the Tudor lugs is slightly less smooth than the bracelet?? Guess that makes sense for comfort.

  • I can’t say I noticed any difference.

Looking at the photos again, I think on the Rolex the end link is exactly the same shape/curve as on the lugs, so they reflect light the same way. The end link/lugs look slightly different on the Tudor.

  • Mmm, looks much more consistent colour wise with the same brushed direction to me.

@PawG I think it is the finishing then. I really want my watch back to look at it now.

I think the brushing as well as being diagonal on the Tudor lugs is also slightly less refined in its abrasiveness than the bracelet, where as the Rolex finishing on both looks completely identical.

  • As I've never owned a Rolex, can others confirm that this is not the same on Rolex models??

On my OP the colour of the steel, and the brushing, is identical between the case and bracelet. I’ve never noticed a difference.

  • This is my life now of constantly seeing the difference. This shows it well:

  • Funny, it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
