I'm having the same problem, although the last delivery at the start of this month was all good.
December, January, February were terrible. I've emailed labels and complained to the distributor but I'm going to start emailing the pressing plants next. Just to try and get replacement disks at least.
I've not made an order for nearly 3 weeks and I had been ordering weekly for the last 4 years. Apparently some of the plants are overwhelmed with orders, short staffed because of social distancing and there was the problem with the Apollo factory burning down so likely acetates have all been coming from stock or the Japanese guy who has had to scale up.
I had been seeing no-fill on 90% of the albums I'm playing and singles quality has been terrible. I don't think I've had one for a year that has much real quality. Although I tend to give 7" stuff a pass because I buy a lot of funk and hip hop so it's loud enough you don't hear the surface noise.
It's a s**t storm. Universal have just raised a lot of prices too.
It does seem like releases from early this year have been much better though. Clearly the Christmas rush caused a lot of rubbish pressings.
Quality control seems to be so bad for new vinyl, I've bought two singles in the last year that have been completely unlistenable... Absolute trash, makes me think twice before buying...
