Cool. I used to deal with A&R peeps a stone age ago. Album should be good.
Hopefully the pent up demand for touring will be released soon. Fuck do I miss nights of earplugs, a sweaty North London venue and an overpriced Tuborg/Red Stripe

Nuts that it's been five years since the last one, is that right?

Hmm, on paper there are some parts I like but it the singing swings between being a little too Morissey and a little too Avenged Sevenfold for me. Also the drums sound like a Korg preset. Anything that's melodic death metal goes up against WITTR in my mind and most can't compare.

Missed Wolves at the Fighting Cocks a few years ago, I'll forever kick myself for that!
Wait... That was 11 years ago!?
Lots of 80's sounds coming through atm, not sure how I feel about it. Me and a mate are starting a new project post lockdown... So far heading towards The Cure - Seventeen Seconds era / Drab Majesty (his influence) crossed Devil Sold His Soul - Fragile Hope era and various post rock/metal. We'll see where that goes haha.

I saw them twice, once supporting Slayer at Ally Pally and once headlining at GAY, I think I preferred the one at GAY because it's a smaller venue and they spent about 20 minute filling the place with burning sage.

free for all this year online: ROADBURN festival but in 'reduxed' version. Still a lot to choose from though. Most streams can be played back for a couple of days after the event too. Check it out:

I think I’ll make a day of going through this list. I thought I was reasonably well-listened but the only one I’ve even heard of is Havukruunu (which I loved)

Do it! There are some absolute gems in there. Total range of stuff from brutal death, tech, thrash and a bit of black so should make a varied day of listening if nothing else!

Thanks for this. That Undeath track is particularly good. Slowly making my way through them all.

Have had this on repeat, such a great track.

missed a few of these, thank you!
got a few from your end of year list to check, too - though quite a few overlaps :) -

That Kvaen track has so much dissection feel to it, but thrashier arrangement. Like it a lot, thanks.

Only 8 months too late but they are amazing. Edgy 59 (or is it 29)'s vocals are amazing. The Poisoned Glass are also amazing. I missed them at a couple of Desertfests ago (sad face)
