Under mine too. I have a hot floorboard that stretches from the bedroom to the hall. Definitely not going to plunge into that.

Ok fine.
Cancelled Stanley.
Ordered more expensive alternative -

The sparks a fuckin idiot by the sounds of it, you certainly dont just blast in with a ripsaw and blame someone else. Good way to get a claim on your insurance too with recklessness like that.

Ha ha yeah we have that.
The cats like it at least.

Virtually every job we do. LOL

Would you use a pipe detector first? Or just go in gentle-like with a multitool?
-
• #28459
Good decision, that Gyokucho saw wouldn't look out of place on a magnetic knife rack in the kitchen.

After painting the majority of our house in Fired earth paint, (my wife used to work there and got a hefty discount) I need to repaint a few walls. FE paint has a long lead time, so got a colour match at Brewers. What's the chance it matches original paint? Also worth noting FE is £72 for 5l, Johnstones is £44

Their colour match is pretty good tbf - the only thing might be the finish. I know that say F&B have that chalky finish which the Johnstone’s might not replicate - dunno if FE paint has that mind

Loads of older houses we work in have floor boards so we tend to use a bolster first, if not yeah the multi tool is the one now. My old mans been at the gas for 40 years and never sawed through a pipe because of caution. We also don’t have a pipe detector.
Imo it’s just reckless from the spark

The colour match is pretty excellent but it almost definitely won't match the finish. However if you're doing whole walls (and not patches) I doubt anyone would notice a slightly different finish if the colour match is good.
We used a lot of Johnstone's durable Matt in our renovation and it's been very good so far

And then you find it's been used to cut some bread, tomatoes and then some cheese.

Set saw blade to depth of floorboard and you shouldn’t have any trouble. And if there’s a pipe right at surface level, the board should have been up previously which is easy to spot.
Judging by the state of many lifted boards, many tradesmen don’t give a flying fuck when they pull them up.

The number of boards in this place that have been plunge cut is annoying. It means fucking up 3 boards instead of one.
-
• #28468
Aye cut with a rusty saw and no tongues burst so it fucks up all the boards when they lift them

Cunts! Cunts everywhere...

Cellar scraping has been going ok, if not a little slow. Thought I'd give the angle grinder a go with a brash brush (poly discs did nothing).
30 seconds later, very much regretting that decision. I knew it would be dusty, but I didn't think it'd be that dusty.

Or cutting off the joist, and then bodging in a support that is bound to fail when the board is replaced.
The list goes on.

I do hope you have a proper mask.

I do! Best DIY thing I've bought in a while.

Don't worry, when you're run over by a bus, then they'll be sorry!

Finally after 4 months of chasing my roofer he came and Installed our roof lights.
I’m going to attempt the dark arts of plastering the “bevelly” bits. Do I use those metal corner strips? I have some seam tape but not sure if they are just for internal corners?
Also kitchen paint recommendations. I painted everything in earthborn but it absorbs every fucking splash and want some matte but also wipe clean.
The people who put my central heating in. Very localised underfloor heating.
