  • That Record Max is amazing. Not the classic MBK shape though (dropped seatstays, pierced ST...), do you have any info on it?

Not convinced by the seatpost though, soz...

  • @mattyc my wife's christmas gift ?? U crazy ??🤣🤣
@Lolo I need a comfy seatpost because I had a back surgery... so this Cannondale Save 2 is the least horrible seatpost I found.

  • It's a pleasure to see you here my old fellow : )

  • plus 1 to the seeing less of the 'seen everywhere'. I trust your builds dude. look forward to seeing them both completed.

  • Hey dude ! I'm pleased to ! (I'm here since eleven years now... but I speak less here than on pignolefixe.com, french is easier for me as you noticed)

    @jonny thanks !

  • Very much digging those stems over here. Top effort getting top matchy matchy marks.

  • Yeah I'm into the stems too

  • this is amazing.

What bars are they btw - lovely curve? ignore me - saw the reply

  • Just bought this one ... looking forward to its arrival.

  • Wow <3 That MBK! Those zipp wheels look so good on it

  • Hoping to pick this up this evening and then think I might make it into an MGOOF down the line.

    Gonna call it the "Hulkamaniac.

  • Cool paint! Which groupset and wheels are you thinking of? And are you going for black parts or silver parts mostly?

  • Easy mate, I've just had a look and seen your seized BB thread. My jaw dropped seeing how much work you've had to put in. I hope the rest of your conversion goes much smoother!

Tbh, I can't go crazy on the big MGOOF upgrades yet, this bike will be my run around while I'm in Berlin, as I can't really leave my Carbon roadbike locked up about town without having heart palpitations that it'll get nicked so have to keep it relatively basic for the moment.

In time I'd hope to get a silver Campagnolo groupset, but for the moment, I will look into wheel, tyre, saddle, and stem upgrades.

But need to make sure it is good first this evening.

  • Great builds! And kudos for picking some unusual stems. Have you checked the weight of the MBK frame? I can’t imagine it’s anywhere near that specified 1.68kg with a lugged (mostly) max tubeset.

  • Found on eBay, I could live without the wheel decals but very nicely done

  • Seems like a sensible plan. Can't be leaving carbon around and about.

I have an all silver wheelset which could be perfect. Bitex hubs with Campagnolo freehub, DCR Flirt 30mm rims (20/24h), Sapim D-Light spokes, everything silver colour. Unridden! I'll sell them for £280 which is what I spent in parts. Let me know if they are what you need.

  • That Cannondale is too try-hard.

  • could've done with a different crankset.

  • That Time stem and seatpost are anomalous

  • People, that bike is about the decals.

  • Yep, they’re just resprayed and rebadged generic I assume

  • Nice! Are you going to use that chainring? What group are you going for?

  • Many of which are incorrect, but hey ho

  • The frame was too big for me, so didn't go for it in the end. Also now I'm in Berlin, I have a feeling the customs and shipping for EU/UK shipments might be a bit of a faff right now.
