If you linked your little trolleys together only the person at the front would have to pay attention. The rest could just read the Metro, clutch cups of coffee as though the caffeine could jumpstart their miserable lives and look suicidly depressed.

Maybe TFL could employ a person to drive the front of the little trolley line through the tunnels so that everyone else can look at their phones while they wait to arrive at the destination.
