    Bit late, but did you know almost everything on them is fixable? There's a great parts website which also has tutorials on how to replace whatever is broken. Quite often it's the bushes(?) that wear and need to be replaced.

  • Yeah, tbh I just hadn't got onto it yet, but I did this weekend!

    It was the power switch, so I just bodged it did a temporary repair to get him going again but have a new power switch, hi low switch (because I bought a cheap non-genuine one a few years back and it's crap) and a new end cuff for the hose which are on their way.

    While I was at it, I took everything apart and gave it a good clean, the motor brushes are surprisingly good for its age - lots of life left. Washed the motor filter but I will get a new one. Should be good as new soon.

    If anyone is after Henry parts, I can't recommend them because they haven't arrived yet, but I ordered from Avern Cleaning Supplies in Worcester who have very good prices for apparently genuine bits:
