The Blue one is pure old boy spec! Comfort seats, heated rear seats, no sporty nonsense, no pro nav. Pity neither of them have the nice leather.
Alternative Merc (also old boy spec). Bigger engine, more space. Older.

Iām not very au fait with them, is that the dodgy pre facelift or the safe post facelift?
-
• #63186
This one is the post-facelift but I do prefer the pre-facelift aesthetic so I will eventually backdate the front end!
-
• #63187
Sounds like the right choice IMO. And more fun tinkering of course.

If you do, I'll take the front bumper. Mines a wee bit scratched up but same nice silver-grey. Is that the turbo or the n/a? Great car.

Just wanted to share this to help @wools assess the fordability of various models. Can't believe I keep watching these videos to the end:

N.B updated to a video that doesn't mostly show Discos.

Loving this!

I done a Vin check on an E36 recently and it also came up as LHD, when it's 100% always been a UK car. A common mistake I think.

Why do they all attempt to speed up as they enter the water? This makes absolutely no sense? Is there some reverse physics logic to this that im not aware of??
Who is this prick that just stands there filming people & waiting for them to fuck their engines up instead of warning them of imminent danger!?!

I was thinking this, but there must be a lot of cars that make it through - it can't be that every single one that trys fails.
What's the best technique? From that video, I gather that smashing it and greating a massive rip curl (what I would probably do) isn't the best.

Fast enough to create a little bow wave, not so fast that water is forced over the bonnet.

Common sense helps. Go slow. See how deep it goes. if it looks like the water line is going to come up higher than your air intake, then it's prolly not a good idea to proceed, innit.
If you go fast you will create a bow wave which will come up and over the bonnet/windscreen and will obviously flood the engine bay.I'm no expert forder tho. Have been through 2ish feet with a very gentle side on current in the Disco with the suspension raised which was probably pretty stupid in hindsight considering i dont really have any idea what im doing. Even going slowly pushed the water up pretty high.
Think you are right. REALOEM returns a RHD unit
