Yeah I'd like one but they don't really seem any more fun than Seiko and they're much more expensive. I'd like one of the tuning fork references.

Def not a ceramic bezel on those. I think they’re polished alu.
I didn’t realise it had PCL though, my regular one didn’t.

I think that one was about £150 or so (but then the service a few years later when it packed up was about the same).

I'm not so sure. Do you have a source for this?
I know marinemaster watches have inlays that are enamelled and polished alu but I thought this particular watch was full ceramic.

They make a really big deal of it if they use a ceramic bezel, as they did on the updated Marinemaster 300 line. They have never stated anywhere that those SPBs have a ceramic bezel. It’s a really nice bezel - I’m certain it’s the same as what they use on the SLA017/037/etc - but eg they state the ceramic bezel here for the SLA023:

And not for others.

I think you might be right. Ive never actually thought about it as being ceramic. Just really shiny and scratch resistant but that definitely could be high quality enamelling instead.

The Seiko site says stainless steel, which might make sense - though I’m not sure if they mean the insert or just the bezel itself. It is definitely more scratch resistant than I would expect aluminium to be.

Whatever it is, it's not just polished alu. It has a deep shiny coating of some sort. Glass like.

Yes, but I don’t think it’s sapphire or anything. The markings are engraved and it looks like metal where that has been done. Also my blue one had quite a metallic quality to the colour, like anodising or something (pic attached). I’ll get the loupe on the 017 at some point and try and suss it out.

On the big box front. I suspect this may be the winner!

The lens on his right eye, is to correct normal vision?
Badaß cyborg vibe whatever.

I don't think there's a lens on his right eye, thats just the wire that holds the left loupe in place I think

Those Speedmaster boxes are absolutely outrageous and I find them infuriating. But I love the watch.

I have to agree. I was somewhat surprised when it arrived in the post in a large cardboard box. Love the watch though - thanks to Ejay.
Happy St Paddy’s Day all!!!

When I bought a Longines on eBay a few years back the seller accidentally sent me a moonwatch instead. I thought the parcel was a filter coffee machine that I had ordered!

I didn't actually open the parcel. Got a very panicked phone call from the seller just before I did.
Choosing my words carefully, the seller was not the sharpest tool in the box. Struggled with fairly simple concepts brought up during the discussion about me sending it back to him. At the end of the conversation I certainly wasn't surprised that he could have got two very different size and shape parcels muddled.
Anyway, no harm done. I eventually received the correct watch. Bet the chap who had bought the Moonwatch but received a Longines worth half the price was shitting bricks.
No Omega?
