Ah ok. No custom cut out HTs and BB shells for me then

Well, tonight is the test. When I am done doing dishes I'll head down to my workshop and give engraving a go. I think if I am patient it could be done without coolant and a rigid CNC

So so good.
If you’ll do it in the future for a fee, I’d be very interested -

Great stuff, adds another level of refinement to your designs. Just have to make sure the powder coat does infill it! Haha

Thanks. Yes. I think it will be alright. But maybe spray is necessary.
Did a test with rattle can

With the risk of sounding pretentious, every time that I read this thread I'm impressed and inspired to make something with my hands.

Thank you...
Well that's the hole point. I want to inspire and de-mistify.
There is absolutely nothing magical about it. It is just trying stuff out and getting information from www or the library.
Obviously you need to buy some tools but there's loads of things that can be done without fancy tools.
The key to picking up skill is to practice and not jump to the conclusion, but dwell in the process and learn a lot before start selling stuff for example. -

I can't believe how smooth things went last night. Things never go as planned and I never have enough time to do things properly, but last night I got out of the flat early with a mission and everything just clicked into place.
Obviously I am interested in a nice looking outcome whenever I make something, but much more important is it that the workflow is pleasant, that I learn stuff and I feel like I am progressing.Edit: I am trying a new thing here compiling my IG story into a short film edit to share the process with folks who stay clear of IG. Format is annoying but filming everything twice is a pain and I don't do framebuilding full time so can't afford spending too much time on this. I hope it works out. Let me know if you want more.

Was thinking the footplate on the cargo would be nice drilled all over with 10mm holes.

The video thing is cool (as is everything else on here). Thanks for taking the time to record and share. As others have said, all very inspiring. You da man!
New logo engraving thing is sick too

Video makes for a great summary, thanks for making the effort to make it accessible outside of Instagram.
Had a chuckle at the toolpath. Whoever wrote the optimiser for the path for the laser cutter at work needs sacked. -

As ever, nice little project, still my favourite thread, keep up the fine work!

Hey,
i linked two of your frames/builds in another bike forum considering modern steel frames. I hope, that this is ok for you. I named all the sources, including this thread here. You can have a look if you like: https://www.rennrad-news.de/forum/threads/neue-retro-stahlrahmen.165916/page-6#post-4947469
I'm praising these builds over there because a combination of these two (rim brakes, clearance for ~30c without mudguards but possibilty to mount some, road geometry, fork cage mounts) is exactly what I am currently looking for.tl;dr: great thread, great builds!
Ah of course. Look forward to seeing this progress.
