  • Billy Gibbons uses 7’s. Only on his dedicated slide guitars does he go for the heavy 8’s.

    I just switched to 9’s after a lifetime of 10s and 11’s . Should have done it years ago. Still have 10s on some things, bit on the right guitar, lighter strings make you fly!

  • Wild. I love a bit of Billy Gibbons, even tried using a coin for a pick for a while when I was 15, had no idea about the crazy light strings.

    I haven’t played 9s since i was a kid but maybe I’m just doing it wrong
