Depending on the size, I’ve needed a bit of extra support to clear a front Dynamo light. Do wonder if the WW/Swift etc bags have a bit of stifferner in the base to help keep their shape. Apparently correx board can be used as a stand in if needed.
Here’s my zipped roll plus support, not quite superC but might give you some ideas depending on clearance.

As @yoshy said, can be a bit saggy!

Here’s an example of a minimalist myog rack plus larger Carradice bag

i was just looking at these in the thread! great examples
i think i'm wondering if a smaller/ lighter filled bag might be better, not for touring but general day trips
my thought process is some foam spacers and some violle straps on either these toggles or directly to the dowel, and then a paracord sinch to loop round the head tube with foam spacers, maybe some stiff card in the bottom
ideally wanting a rackless option for my FG bike and well, aesthetics.

this is another good one! this image started this brain worm a couple of months back, but a slow friday has revived it
the trouble with caradice owners is they actually ride their bike and want to carry everything for a world tour, cant seem to find examples of the tiny lightweight ones!

A long time ago I bodged a Super C Audax on a Cross Check. Let me find the photos. I think it was on a rack again, rather than handlebars but can't quite be sure.

It was a bit of a mess: https://www.instagram.com/p/m7JEEGC2FY/
Pretty sure I punched holes for the decaleur and screwed into the dowel/strip of alu on the inside. Probably cut holes in the bottom for a strap? Really can't remember that far back.
Edit: got stabby https://www.instagram.com/p/nQJJxUC2GN/
Looked ok on the not-grav though: https://www.instagram.com/p/nBXfITi2Bs/

Did some snooping:
- Straps on dowel, no spacers: https://www.instagram.com/p/CL81FwBDdso/
- @Landslide went all out https://www.instagram.com/p/B_x0qZXlN5z/
- Again no spacers: https://www.instagram.com/p/BpM-g5eH04_/
Maybe bags do not droop on the internet? Anyway, I looked at too many pictures and I'm going to go buy a super c tomorrow and see what happens.

Have I been influenced?

This stiffness is the main thing as super c sags with heavy things like multi tools, vs like an outer shell bag, as well as width. I tried running an audax on front but it was annoying with my STIs - on a 44cm bar with flare.

No spacers makes it a bit shit cycling on the tops

yessss thank you!
this looks great, i'm glad it can be done, i hope you do buy one and report back with your own findings.
i think from unsupported handlebar bags i've tested, as long as they have stuff in them and the bottom is stiff it's fine and doesn't "droop"
drooping can also be counteracted by foam spacers on the head tube strap equal to the length of your stem, and having the bag sinched tight. i have a small outershell one and it works well with just bar straps and a foam spacer on the headtube paracord, but is a bit small for a flask.

agreed for both of these, having a 46cm+ bar really helps due to the real estate the bags take up

Ah I forgot you have the outer shell bag as well. You don’t need me! You know all you need.
I’ve resigned to outer shell on the front, audax on the back with a bagman if I need more stuff.

This is where I've ended up too, need an audax to deal with my tiny tiny headtube

Glad you got influenced by my talbot

I might go audax as a start. The full size one is probably a bit much for the midweek chippy run.

you'll notice i linked the blue one, because i wanted the hivis one then you got it >:|
obviously cant get the camo one because i don't read the sun

I was a bit annoyed how floppy my carradice bag was, so I did a little soft modding to add some internal support. I got a sheet of 1mm plastic and cut it to size, and then two notches it the top to hook in around the zipties that hold the dowel on.
The front end sits under the lip of the front seam and seems to naturally sit inplace with no extra fassening

Trust me, it's perfectly possible to own a camo Carradice and simultaneously hold the belief that fucking shitrag, and anyone who's ever worked for/advertised in/bought/promoted it should be loaded into a giant catapult, and fired into the flaming ball of gas at the centre of our solar system.

Done the exact same with coroplast; works nicely other than the noise.

I lined my Coroplast with a section of old camping mat. Works really well. No noise!
It's best with some kind of rack support and interior structure, definitely not a "fits out the box" solution.
Search "bars" in this thread, there's a fair bit of chit-chat on it :)
