I’d be tempted to look for a well maintained/looked after Subaru Legacy/Outback/Forester.

My missus has an XC60 (pretty sure @Bobbo has one too) and whilst it is a bit of a tank, it’s great. It’s been loaded up and driven down to the Alps a couple of times and it’ll happily sot there at 80mph all day without missing a beat. Pretty sure we got there and back on well under two tanks of Satan’s finest...

In spite of what BlueRinse said, I’m fairly convinced I’m going for a Boxster

They just scrape in under budget but with significant miles. We (the lovely folk of this forum) can do better than a Ford Kuga though! 😀

Have you been in one? Been running round in a series2 4x4 version in France and fuel efficient.
Could have said Honda CRV or HRV if I didn't like you.

The engine allegedly having 85bhp doesn't get a mention?

I had a 987 , tbh I really prefer the look of an original 986 ... true modern classic .

Get the Boxster, then if you are interested you can take the 911 out for a run, be interested in how they compare. Same car from the seatbelts forwards of course.

I'm going to go look at a Transit on Saturday. 2012 - 2.2 TDCI Trend. MWB
Any tips on what to look out for?
The earlier ones are better.
But suspect that the new Panda (Ford KA, Fiat 500) 4x4 is what people meant.
