  • Are they actually shipping them now? When they were supposedly in shops last year there was a lot of complaints online from people who pre-ordered not receiving them

  • Not sure actually though I'm pretty sure my mate who has one got it from online?

  • Do you know if he’s electro-acoustic or electric? It doesn’t seem like many amps are dual purpose.

  • I've decided I need a dedicated reverb pedal, don't wanna spend the earth so is there any reason not to buy a Hall of Fame 2? They sound great on the YouTubes, what's the catch? They're quite cheap...

I also wanna dip my toe into some compression, I found a really cheap HyperGravity Mini at Pedal Empire which I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on... Unless there's something better for similar cash? Thanks!

Totally changing my pedalboard up, tremolo and repeater are going back on and a few fuzz/overdrive/distortions are coming off!! Or maybe I just need a bigger board!! 🤭🔫

  • He uses electric but as far as I know this amp works well for electric, acoustic and bass even!

Check out some video reviews on YouTube, it's an impressive piece of equipment!

    Meanwhile... this just arrived :)

HOF2 is great for a do-it-all reverb IMO, the price is pretty unbeatable for how good it sounds. I did think the spring mode sounded weird. Not totally horrible or unusable, just a bit weird. Everything else about it is great. Nice smooth sound, not cheap sounding.

  • I've only used the first iteration of the HoF and it was very good, can't image the 2 not being at least as good 👌

  • I had a HoF2, it was great. You can do some nice swell effects with the ‘mash’ button.

  • Why do you want to amp up the electro-acoustic at home? Is it a case of just wanting to play along and both sounds spraying out towards your ears rather than putting your phone in a stereo set up and setting it to a volume where you can just play the guitar acoustically?

As I understand it, the purpose of electro-acoustic is the ability to put the thing through a PA without having to sit still in front of a mic

  • ^i was wondering this. HoF looks great for the money. I have a Holy Grail which does a great spring sound for my reverbless amps.

  • On the subject of spring reverb, this is far more content than anyone needs (nearly two hours of it) but does pretty comprehensively cover which pedals make a decent fist of it and which ones don’t:

  • I've just picked up a Boss RV-6, it was around £80. It sounds great and feels pretty bombproof as you would expect. Would recommend! Haven't tried the HoF though.

  • Going to save this for later but I hope the Surfy Industries SurfyBear makes an appearance!

  • Anyone looking to shift a delay pedal?

  • I've been using a Marshall AS100 for this sort of thing. It's been great.

Although it is big. The AS50 might be a better fit. I just happened across the big one for super-cheap second-hand.

  • The AS50 seems to be around £150-£200 second hand. I’ve also been looking at reviews of the Yamaha THR5a which appears similar to the spark but without the online content.

  • I have a Yamaha THR10. It’s a great little amp in general. The built in effects are good but are great if you hook it up to your computer as you can adjust them so much more as well as “change cabs” and or add compression.

It also has a dedicated acoustic channel of that’s what you want.

I got mine cheap off eBay.

  • i have the THR5 i got for £100 s/h. I use it for in front of telly noodling. It's fun. Don't expect any kind of volume but for conversational level widdling it's great for the money.

  • It does a great purple rain with delay, reverb and chorus... hold please caller.

  • heh. I also have a THR5A. The sound is a bit thin, which is why I upgraded to the AS100.

It doesn't have the fancy play-along stuff that looks like the Spark's USP.

  • Pleasing YT algorithm suggestion for me today

  • Good finger picking like that makes me want to sit down and learn.

I then quickly realise how much proper exercise and discipline it takes, drop the acoustic, pick up the Jazzmaster and a few well chosen pedals and pretend I'm Kevin Shields or Thurston Moore once again.

  • oh that's good!

  • i like that guy. Been following him on YT for a while.
