Some have, some haven't
Lol, of course, why would this be easy?Presumably your new fork has a flat crown race seat
[shrugging emoji] there’s like a flat 3- 5mm around the very base of the steerer but could very well just be there to interface with the head tube. Attempted to photo but it’s tricky to get the detail as it’s all black. The fork is a full carbon thing so I’m assuming there needs to be something between the carbon and the headset bearing, but that might just be because carbon components are also a new thing in my life.
Integrated headsets - am switching out the fork on my giant TCX (1 1/8 to 1 1/4 taper, because I fucking love obsolete standards)
Removed the old fork, thinking that I would remove the crown race from that, slap it on the new fork and off we go (i.e. what I've done every time I've ever changed a fork in my life). But, lol, no crown race on the old fork. So now I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. Have tapered forks just done away with crown races?
