I had no idea on the difference truth be told, twice the price but https://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-alivio-t4000-v-brake seem to be more the ticket. Sadly no longer in London, but anyone that would be able to pop suitable brakes in the post so I can ride at the weekend would be preferable to putting money into wiggle!

If you're anywhere near E5 I think I've got some old ones you're welcome to have.
Why not just go normal v brakes though?
