The stars aligned (sale markdown & a discount) and a pair of Viberg Derby shoes arrived on the doorstep today. Dream pair would have had a toe cap but I couldn’t overlook these at half the usual price and available in my size

Tidy!

Cheers! Haven’t worn anything more robust than vans for the last year or so, so expect these are going to be doing a number on my feet trying to break them in

There will be blood.....

Just make sure you bend them in half a lot before each wear to help the sole follow your foot movements. New shoes have really stiff soles.

You tried it?
-
• #7709
Yeah, when ever I wear my Trickers! Got them a half size small in the sample sale a while back and I refuse to be beaten. Smarts a bit when I remove it but zero rubbing.

What do you do for a living, kick down trees?
1/2 the week I run a bike shop, 1/4 the week I manage a coupe of rich folks gardens, the last 1/4 I work on my garden/house/car.

Nice mix.

Excellent turn-ups. Almost gratuitous in size.

They’re the trews of the denim varieties where you don’t wash them for the first six months or so, and only come in one length. Can’t account for shrinkage till then, will get them hemmed after the first wash or so.

Nice.
I’m currently in a pair of OG (literally, that’s the brand) combats. Claimed pre-shrunk, and ‘nato’ contract spec. They seriously need a bit of modernising with the crazy wide cut at the ankles. After first wash they’ll get hemmed and tailored to fit a little less grandpa.

Said combats (in need of tailoring), with some boots bought off a RM. Mismatched eyelets for that genuine army surplus appeal.
Comfortable for welding, at least.

Ha I skip the lace hole in about the same place on my hunting boots.

Probably Blundstone, Since then I wore a hole on the sole and they were battered so not worth resoling. Bought a pair of Redbacks, would recommend over blundstone. Also every person in the park is wearing blundstones these days.

I have two pairs of good Grenson shoes if anyone here is interested?

Loake were on sale in the debenhams closing down sale, down well over 50%, a few rotters obviously, but some decent pairs as well. Got some of these for work, only £92.

Anyone tried Horatio footwear?

Na I haven't, but, for that amount of money, I'd want a bit more transparency about their manufacturing and particularly, lasts. They're made in 'the Far East' - these are their words, from when I inquired about this when they first hit the scene. Just not for me when you can get a pair of really decent English shoes for that amount.
Edit: Have just seen some of their shoes are Made in Italy, so perhaps the above is no longer accurate.
I do like the Dartmouth loaf a lot though. Like a budget Alden.
Just saw this: “White's Smoke Jumper built on Semi Dress Last equals Baker',s 'Bounty Hunter'. Bounty Hunter is a registered trademark and owned by Baker's Boots.”
