  • Like the Carla aside a few things.
    1) PRice, UK they end up approx £4600, thats just too much, and I'll defend the most niche 'strongly' priced bikes all day long.
    2) cargo space isn't all that great, for many its ideal, but for the likely users of a near £5k trailer (hard working couriers, trying to make payments on that near £5k trailer) its going to have to take all the items all the time.
    3) The 3rd wheel running the centre line catch's potholes in the road that you on your bike have managed to avoid, hard to explain, its just a lot of wheels to try and navigate the rough streets.

They are neat though, suggest anyone thinking seriously of getting one to trial one first. The electric assist and brake integration is market leading (in a market of them vs everyone elses home brew creations) and genuinely does just work well, but IMO not near £5k well.
If they were priced around £2500-2900 I think you'd have a winner, as you don't require a big e cargo bike to pull it, a normal bike is going to do the job.
Also beware, two companies have found that if you have a UK/Euro compliant e cargo bike, and then attach an eCarla, its technically over the UK 'power limit' for an e-assist vehicle.

  • good points- and yeah no e-Carla for you if you already have an ebike! A regular Carla is closer to 3k, and that’s after the price has shot up a bit post brexit. Think they're v well made, and if you can make them work for you then they’re a solid choice.
