If you need width then maybe check out the urban Arrow arrow tender?
I’ve seen pretty impressive sound systems on urban Arrow xl’s, just ratcheted down onto a fairly narrow flatbed (prob about 72cm wide)
You can up the width of the boards a fair bit without it getting floppy assuming the ply is thick enough

Little bit of box progress this morning. Second coat of varnish has been drying for 4 days. Dry enough to assemble this morning. Just need to drill the mounting holes in the base and it’s good to go.
I’m going to fit it with the long M8 bolts and nyloc nuts to start with, but I want to eventually tap and helicoil the bolt tubes to M10 so I can bolt it on and off directly without fiddling around underneath with the nuts.

In fact, have just bought a helicoil kit and some bolts. Better borrow a tap wrench this weekend...

I’m finally, almost, legitimately able to post something in this thread!👍
I’ve been living on my narrowboat since September, with my two little dogs, and because I won’t leave them alone for more than 30 mins or so, while I pop to the shops, I’ve done next to no bike riding of any sort... it’s not good for my mind or body, as I’ve always cycled and it’s the perfect way to relax and recharge for me....
So, I’ve bit the bullet and managed to get hold of an omnium mini max wifi in blurple!(thanks Dan!)
Yes!! To say I’m excited is an understatement, so I will be investigating dog holders like crazy, and will either buy something suitable for two little doggos, or make something.... I’m not sure yet. So if anyone wants to show me their solution or have seen something good, please feel feee to put pictures up! -

This looks cool, I think it’s got some real nice features.
Kinda surprised to see it hasn’t got any surge braking on the trailer itself, don’t think I’d want to rely on my V brakes to deal with potentially 100kg pushing into the back of the bike while I’m riding, especially downhill or something 😅.
If we’re talking about trailers I think the Carla Cargo deserves a mention:

Yeah, familiar with the Carla too. They are a couple of monsters and of course you're right, braking on the trailer itself even on the flat is critical.

Cheers!
Managed to rack up 10.5 miles on my test ride with the toddler onboard earlier. Turned into a bit of an extended adventure down the tow path and the weather was nice. Such a chilled ride with a big box up front.
Now just got to take a pile of stuff round to the garage while dinner is in the oven. Clanky.

Like the Carla aside a few things.
1) PRice, UK they end up approx £4600, thats just too much, and I'll defend the most niche 'strongly' priced bikes all day long.
2) cargo space isn't all that great, for many its ideal, but for the likely users of a near £5k trailer (hard working couriers, trying to make payments on that near £5k trailer) its going to have to take all the items all the time.
3) The 3rd wheel running the centre line catch's potholes in the road that you on your bike have managed to avoid, hard to explain, its just a lot of wheels to try and navigate the rough streets. They are neat though, suggest anyone thinking seriously of getting one to trial one first. The electric assist and brake integration is market leading (in a market of them vs everyone elses home brew creations) and genuinely does just work well, but IMO not near £5k well.
If they were priced around £2500-2900 I think you'd have a winner, as you don't require a big e cargo bike to pull it, a normal bike is going to do the job.
Also beware, two companies have found that if you have a UK/Euro compliant e cargo bike, and then attach an eCarla, its technically over the UK 'power limit' for an e-assist vehicle. -

Couple of Bullitts on eBay

In need of a new bike; our shed is too full of bikes so we can clear a few if we can replace with one more usable one.
The Tern GSD gen1 was perfect; we test rode and both now agree we should have bought it.
The new one is £500 more and uglier, suspension forks are not required and I dislike the even slacker seat tube angle (aesthetically)
Any other contenders?
Must take 2 kids, plus a bag or two
Compact to fit in shed (bullitt is too big for our town’s infrastructure/to get in the shed)
Kinda quirky / cool
Electric assistIf nothing else, we have bullit space out front, but this requires a new house being built for it and would rather not

How about a Brompton?
One for you and two more for the kids so they can ride themselves? -

Interesting, rather just go for Bosch or Shimano steps tho!
