The civic is a great little 4x4. Rare in this country.

2/ put on ignition and set heater to hot, top up again until coolant comes out of bleed screw.
3/ start engine, top up until coolant comes out of bleed screw, tighten bleed screw, top up coolant to correct level at cap
4/ road test vehicle, to warm {fan cut in] then allow to cool and recheck level. -

Proper civic aerodecks, not the accord.
Some must have come here/Ireland as imports and maybe some as official uk vehicles. https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/honda_civic_shuttle_4wd

I didn't know there were official UK ones, just assumed the Aerodecks I'd seen were all imports.
-
• #62509
Civic aerodeck (85) were official imports with the 1.6 vtec engine as fitted to the crx. No idea about others.
Mentioned up thread, also there seem to be no uk pictures looks like an upgrade to the 1.5si. Mine had aerodeck between the rear lights. The car was family owned from purchase from a Honda dealer so don't understand. Bonus was the pop up lights.

Anyone recommend a decent set of socket wrenches? Should probably get my own and stop borrowing
-

Halfords professional. Had mine for nearly 10 years and they’re still like new.
11mm ratchet spanner broke about 2 years ago. Replaced on the spot in store.

Second, use them weekly at work and still holding up

Halfords Professional as per Soul above.

Cool. You don't see many, turns out we saw the same one. I saw it down on the Embankment last year, it definitely has the look of an aquatic vehicle/catfish, like it has just driven up out of the river itself :)

Are you in London? Or have access to a trade card?
https://www.halfords.com/tools/hand-tools/socket-sets/halfords-50-piece-1%2F4in-and-3%2F8in-drive-metric-socket-set-332430.html is £28 with a trade card 2 year guarantee not lifetime. -
• #62518
Not as good now, think the manufacturer changed.
Rachet spanners are great miss my kit.

2nd what Soul reccomends, the halfords pro range is very hard to beat without spending a tonne.
Most of my sockets are those! After that, and want to spend some more, Teng, Snap-on, Unior, Bernier and Facom are all fantastic, though you are going to be spending around £8-30 per socket in the regular sizes (8-23mm) -

Wera Joker ratchet spanners, £15-25 each, worth it, I use them every day and have yet to strip or damage one in any way. Think the oldest 10 and 13mm are coming up to 4 years old?
For home use, they are lifetime tools**So long as you aren't freeing seized bolts with a spanner + hammer combo lol

Re. The tools
Horses for courses. Halfords professional or advanced are good enough for home use and not ridiculously expensive.
Teng or Snap On are madly expensive and lifetime guarantee for daily use. My mechanic mate has Snap On - he reckons quality has dropped but the guarantee helps. Some odd spanner cost £130 and I have one which isn’t Snap On - £15! But I’m only an occasional user he really needs it.
How deep are your pockets? -

Halfords advanced all the way. I use and abuse mine on farm machinery and they don't blink. My brother is a full time plant and Agri mechanic and uses them, after having snap on and other big brands stuff fail. Lifetime guarantee means there really is little reason to go any more expensive.

Only issue is the plastic box is a pile of shit.
Make sure whatever set you buy is in a decent box. Ideally metal with catches.

My life has improved immeasurably since buying a tool chest recently... Was doing a bit of guitar teching last night and it was an absolute pleasure knowing exactly where every tool was... Now I just need a garage to put it in...
There are some people ragging them on "rallycross" courses as well
