Did you find that you noticed the spot where the screws had protruded, after filing them down?
Nope. I'm sure it could be sanded/filed away though.

Well (gel) is 144mm wide vs 137mm for the Dynamic. Length is almost identical.
Is this standard or stripped?

I'm curious ... are all the saddle bases the same width, with extra width coming from layers of cushioning?

Top link. Cheers.

It's a real shame there's no unpadded/lightly padded smp with a wider base. They should make something that fits a more upright position, without gel. With all these gravel bikes being sold, you would think there's a market for such a saddle.

Standard. The Well and the TRK fall outside of most of the other saddles discussed here, I think this is because the are not part of SMP's 'performance' range. That said the Well Gel is very similar overall shape to the Forma family although heavier padded than the Drakon.
I count my self as a 'medium' and get on fine with Carbon/Composite/Dynamic/Drakon (and the Well Gel of course), I'd say that the arch profile front to back is pretty similar for those, the Stratos / Evolution / Blaster seem to have a slightly flatter profile. If I get a chance it would be nice to compare a Forma with the Composit.
Table below is quite informative:

Hi all, and esp @edscoble @miro_o just read through 7 years worth of this thread. Do you still ride with them and if so which one?
I want to try out the following saddles, I did the cardboard test and my sit bones come in at 120mm, so the SMP Selle chart and App tells me these are the models that would suit me. The Drakon for my road bike, the Lite 209 for my Gravel/Adventure/Touring Trek 920 and the Extra Gel for my Genesis Smithfield.
Any advice or tips too would be greatly appreciated
Does anyone have any of these they re not getting on with that they want to sell?
Thanks,

You sir, deserve an eternally comfy backside.
Do you still ride with them and if so which one?
Yeah, very happy with a couple of Composit for most miles and one faux Full Carbon. I've not found an SMP that was great off-road so the cross bike has a WTB saddle.

Hey all,
Looking to try a Dynamic or a Drakon, if anyone has one they're looking to sell.
@thebaldingbuddha would ofc take first dibs on a Drakon though, if they haven't found one after their comment above.

I've got a forma that i no longer use since i changed to an infinityseat. I'm located in the Netherlands but willing to post.

Thanks very much, but I'm looking for a least a bit padding. Preference would be Drakon over Dynamic. Thanks again though.
@190-215GPa you're welcome to it.

SMP people, I'm in the market for a new saddle. Fitter has recommended me either the Nymber, Dynamic or Lite 209.
Nymber seems to be the shortest, widest, lightest, and also have the biggest cutout so leaning towards this one.
Anyone have this saddle or used the other ones as well? Any feedback appreciated, cheers.

I now have the Dynamic, Drakon, and Lite 209. In that order, the padding increases.
I am currently using the Lite 209 as I am riding my touring/adventure bike right now and soaks up the bumps nicely and every ride I come home and not one single saddle sore or numbness. The glider is also meant to be a good saddle for this type of riding too.
The drakon is on my road bike and yet to try but should be able to feedback on that in the next few weeks, that replaced my Brooks All weather C19.

Ah that's interesting, thanks.

I use the vulkor, which is the unpadded version of the nymber. Basically a slightly wider version of the composit. I find it comfy and the base shell is slightly flatter laterally and front to back than the forma shell which the dynamic or 209 are based on and are more padded versions of. The two shells are quite different, so worth seeing which one you get on better with.
I also use the blaster (padded composit and equivalent to nymber) which is slightly too narrow for me on my commuting bike. The padding is thin but dense, and enough that I’m happy cycling just in jeans etc. Probably a similar level of padding to one of the firmer specialized romins I was on before.

Just a quick heads up if you guys like the dynamic, you may also like the Nymber, a bit flatter and a tad wider in middle section. I use it on my grav grav bike. No need for padded shorts either.

I'd try Nymber first.

That’s good to know, cheers. Annoyingly it looks like they don’t have a non leather one in black so trying to work out which colour doesn’t look absolutely awful with a red bike.

Is anyone wanting a carbon railed forma? I now use Berk lupina on my bikes. Done around 400miles. RRP is £350ish, I paid £260 and would like to get £150 back. Still got the box. Will put on eBay if no one here is tempted.

• #1624
whats the diff between forma and composit?
-
• #1625
Forma is wider with a bigger dip. I love the forma, hate the composit
I've bought this Hell/Well version but I really should have bought another Drakon - anyone got one hanging around their parts bin?
