The EU laws have to be debated and changed, with over 20 countries discussing, some countries have vetoes etc.
Perhaps Cameron could have used and abused some permittable emergency stop.
But no way the EU commission would get into such a hot issue cos the UK isn't happy over its own balls-up.
It's all academic now hopefully the nasty brexiters won't start attacking immigrants and immigration again but with Priti Patel they don't have to.

It's political posturing. She knows she'll never be accepted by the majority of the Conservative party membership because she isn't white, so her strategy is to show how supportive she is of the cause by being demonstrably anti-immigrant and throwing them raw meat at every opportunity.
How she sleeps at night is beyond me though.

You’re not wrong. It is just frustrating that we went through this massive national upheaval to stop something that people now don’t seem to care very much about. And that could have been achieved inside the EU with costs mainly to us and not to other member states.
