About 10 years ago they had a great run of glassware, which I bought for presents for family, some of it has survived - heavy etched vases, and these excellent little tumblers with gold pixellated owls. Sounds naff but actually delightful.

Really?! I think one of the last times I went into central to go shopping was to pick up some picture frames there. Shows how often I get out.
Yes, hadn’t been up that way for ages either due to lockdown and WFH and it was a shock to see it closed.

They did some nice stuff from time to time. Bought our Robin Day sofa in there.

I am in the same boat. Was even considering old man leather recliners at one point. Most nice lounge chairs I’ve found are quite short in the back. That Polish site seems quite good, can you select language on it?

they've had some separate concessions in Sainsburys for the last 5 years or so tbf

HAY about a lounge chair
It's very nice, but think the other half wants something tall enough to lean her head back on.
tbh I think our main problem is being stingy bastards...

not that i can see i'm afraid - could chuck the url into google translate and it'd get you half way?
there's quite few modern/inexpensive Polish furniture companies/factories - we got a (we think) nice corner sofa (Selsey 'Mru Mru') for about £350 new, though it appear for sale on Wayfair now, only 5 times as expensive (?!)

Habitat TCR was opposite my office. I spent many a lunch time browsing and imagining my dream purchases. Sad times.

I’ve just bought a leather stressless lounge recliner and stool for £40 2nd hand. It looks supremely comfy and supremely ugly. I have plans to throw enough sheepskins at it to try and make it look better but mrs jv will never accept it long term..

How would you rate quality of the Cubo sideboard mentioned up thread? Just had a quote back for a longer version and very tempted.

Yeah prob me as I work for them.
As others have said, what was habitat is no more sadly and it’s being transformed into something “more accessible”. -

Very happy with it, doubly so considering bespoke-ish and the reasonable price. Imo it’s a nicely thought out, unfussy piece of furniture. The little lip and mitre doors are a tidy detail my builder (and former cabinetry guy) was really tickled by.

I am finally embarking on my expensive lounge chair order. In a bit of a tizzy over leather choices. I definitely want black but do I choose napa, aniline or semi aniline. My big worry is that it will look f**ked after 5 years if I choose the wrong leather.

I would like some advice on a dining table we'd like to sell please.
It's a beautiful thing from a distance but needs some TLC and has a couple of knocks. I wanted to put it on ebay but I have no idea where to start with the description.
I know that it's got a veneer with a nice pattern in it (though it needs refinishing and has a kind of blue tinge to it) but I don't even know what type of wood it is.

Looking for dining table recommendations... around 180x 75cm, solid wood top, £1k ish tops, rectangular.
Really like the &Tradition In Between SK5 but it’s too wide and I want to avoid veneers.
Was keen on an Ercol Plank in black or a dark stain but it’s a bit shorter than ideal at 152cm.

muuto 70/70? 10cm shorter than your target, but hits the price point if you can find somewhere with 15% off. We've got one with oak ply top/black legs, really happy with it, but they do one with a solid oak top now too.

Viaduct stuck some new stuff in the ex-display sale which can sometimes throw up a gem

If you like the look of that Muuto you can save a lot by buying the table top and legs separately.
I did that with Hay Loop legs (not super original, but it works) and a 2nd-hand oak and black lino table top, for about the equivalent of £250 all in. New table top would have been 5000kr new for a 200x100 cut to measure, so still significantly cheaper.
The Habitat branded duvet cover sets were in my local Sainsburys at the weekend.
