Worth adding that in wall/ceiling speakers have come on a lot. We have a pair of these in our kitchen and they sound great. The grills are paintable so they're pretty subtle. Ceiling speakers are obviously more subtle, but they don't line up with your ears in the same way...
You can get bluetooth ceiling speakers which are also Google Home/Alexa compatible so they just need power.
