  • I was, and kind of still am, but a) I've got an engine rebuild to pay for and b) some interior customisation of the same car but also c) I'm becoming more and more tempted by a JLC Master Geographic.

  • New in. Thoughts ?

  • rubbish, I'll give you £20 for it, you won't get a better deal than that.

  • It's the nicest Breitling I've seen but that's a very low bar.

    Like the sub dials, don't like the hand design. Hate the strap.

  • One of 2000 .
    I like it , but am not sure if it’s trying tooooo hard .

  • sub dials look cool. lugs and crown look massive though. huge "B" logo is a bit meh

  • New old G. Had one of these as a youth and found a NOS one on eBay.

  • To accompany the “goth “ version seen a couple of pages back.
    Legend diver in Bronze.
    Been waiting ages for this. Dial is awesome in the flesh.

  • Don’t particularly like it, as mentioned seems to be trying a bit too hard. The red bit on the sub dial clashes a bit with the design of the main dial, imho.

    Top Time looks like one of those random collection of words you used to get on trendy jumpers in the 90s “Ski, Fresh,living”

  • Must say, I have been tempted by one of these in steel for years and the itch doesn't seem to subside.

  • I like the steel one as well , and have since it was launched.
    I don't normally like bronze but really like this one. £2440 seems about right as well.

  • Is that just the lighting or is it quite a light coloured alloy?

  • its mainly the lighting , it is a proper bronze colour. But lighter than the Tudor Black Bay .

  • I tried one of those Top Times on last year. I think it’s great, I think they really nailed the dial. Unfortunately being automatic it’s much too thick. Great effort though. A regular non-Zorro version would do really well for them IMO.

  • Can't believe this POC keeps such good time.

  • the fact that the internal dial "bezel' moves astonishes me. I love this watch.

  • Legend diver in Bronze.

    Im all over that.

  • I've never really gone for Longines so this is new to me but I love it, the stainless version at least, that's going top of the list.

  • How does the goth diver work?

    It's a homage on the Blancpain bund, which Squale have a hand in making, no way I can afford a Fifty Fathom, and not too keen on the otherwise excellent Helson version, this is pretty bang on;

    It was created for the German Navy;

    It was back in 1975 when Blancpain made this version of the Fifty Fathoms for the German Bundeswehr. The special frogmen division known as Kampfschwimmer was equipped with rebreathers, meaning they could stay submerged for much longer than before. This had a practical implication for their watch; the rotating dive time bezel no longer needed to be graduated in minutes. Knowing your dive time down to the minute was life-saving with traditional scuba gear. The rebreather technology meant this was no longer relevant. The result? A stark black dive time bezel with no markings other than a triangle at twelve.

  • I've been trying to get that YouTuber to put fucking closed captioning on for ages (spoiler alert; they didn't).

  • Longines are on a roll with their vintage recreations. I’m a little wary of their quality though, just because I have two friends that have had issues with their Longines (one had lume fall off the dial, another had a bracelet clasp fail).

  • I can't remember the last time we had to send one back under warranty.
    Probably as good as Omega , and fucking way better than Tudor.

  • I'm actually very close to pulling the trigger on this at the end of the month

    Hey, @ejay2.0 you got any deals on at the moment?

  • Tudor seem to be having a rough time with their manufacture calibres, don’t they.

    It’s a small sample size so probably rather unfair of me to jump to any conclusions about Longines QC. I really liked their sector dial one when I tried it on. I actually think it looks better than the sector dial JLC Polaris as it doesn’t have a date ruining it.
