Going to really miss you too! Really really hoping we get a chance to see everyone properly before we leave.

Oz is Oz, lots to like, lots to hate... I miss Jamaican food and cultural diversity, I hate white people more than I ever have, I have loads more guitars than when I left, health-wise Lori is doing much better here than she was at home... Some days I still hate it here, work keeps me sane...
Working for Ross will be ace, I've got a lot of time for that fucking weirdo... I seriously wanna come visit you guys...

Who are my kids going to heckle at Herne Hill now you're going?
-
• #1306
that is massive news @mrs_socks and @hillbilly
I will be absolutely fucking gutted if this current health crisis shit gets in the way of a proper forum send off ahead of the big move.
am out of the big smoke these days but will be down there quick smart for a proper send off.

Yeah fully agree - there’s a very nice loop that goes out via kelston, through keynsham then Stanton drew and back via the lanes between marksbury and Newton st loe - it’s rolling without any killer hills. Definitely one I need to do again fully, and it gets a nice mix of cotswolds and mendips in a compact package.

Pack all the bikes, then see what else you can fit in up to the weight limit :)

Epic news!
Congrats to you and @hillbilly. I hope it’s all you want it to be.I moved to SW France with Mrs Q in October and I love it here. I’ve no desire (at the moment) to ever go back to the UK. We have space, a 16th century house that was so cheap that it’s all paid for (but needs quite a lot of work), a big garden on the river, cheap wine and long thin bread. Money and work would be nice I suppose, but otherwise, what more could I ask?

The thought of being in a big old house that needs work, somewhere I don't speak the language, with no money coming in... is kinda terrifying to me. But horses for courses - you sound happy!
-
• #1311
Hope you don’t mind me asking but how far down in SW France are you? We’re eyeing up something near Bayonne.

for the larger family
136 bed property for £750k
used to scrump apples pears and hazlenuts at this place when it closed down for winter as a kid
it doesn't actually show any of the bedrooms in the photos

How near Bayonne?
I've got a mate who lives 90 minutes inland from the coast. -

Catching up on this thread with a mixture of hope and sadness. The Spotted thread will be so much the poorer for all these departures.
Also now worried. My daughters are 28 and 30 and are London born and raised. I had always thought that that would bind them to London for at least as long as we are alive. Not so sure now.

@hillbilly I remember talking to you about your Canada plans outside BC after beers last time Joe was in town. I thought you were pissed - tbf you probably were - but great that this is happening for you and @mrs_socks
-
• #1316
On the downside, that leaves the old Souths crew pretty thin on the ground - Snowy, Corndog, err...
-
• #1317
The ice hockey is better in BC
-
• #1318
Yeah, we’ll have to have some sort of reunion, to raise a glass to the departed..
-
• #1319
I actually want to move back to London but will have to wait a year or so. But will enjoy my time in SW.
-
• #1320
Pretty close. Ustaritz.
-
• #1321
WOAH!
That's a big and exciting move for both of you.
Get a decent removal firm.
Try and sort finance stuff before getting there.
Try and find a home to live in yourself -
• #1322
Joe, we're actually moving closer to you! We should just get everyone to meet up in Vancouver.
@jonny will be absolutely heartbroken if we can't get together for a proper send off. Feels much more difficult to get ready to leave when we don't know if we're going to actually get to say goodbye properly.
@cornelius_blackfoot hopefully we'll be able to have some kind of reunion before the departed have departed!
-
• #1323
If there’s a forum group send off I’ll certainly head to London. I’ll ensure a Norths contingent is plentiful
-
• #1324
Neat!
I assume they're actually letting people in?
I've got a mate over there but I've never been. Its been on the list ages. You got a place sorted already? How far are you guys along with moving?

Excited much?
going to miss you guys.
