si: what's up playerrrrssssssss
dan: hello si, shall we get the meeting started?
connor leant against the wall, half bent over to avoid touching the ceiling grunts
dan: ok, this week manon is shooting b roll for the boys, i've got oli fighting the bike radar guys to retake the broardmead turf after losing it in a trackstand battle last week, we need something for the friday spot?
si turns the chair round so the back is to the front and straddles it
si: so yeah fools, we need something cool, you know? something to really get those clicks you feel me?
hank: why good sir i concur! one would think we should create some content about the growing trend of gravel riding?
dan: good idea hank, but big bike has said we shouldn't produce anymore content till this weeks axel standard comes out otherwise we'll just have to shoot it again..
manon shuffles forward
manon: maybe we could make some content like..
si: SO YEAH, i've been tapping into those internet facebook chats not on facebook, and there is a lot of talk about hybrids? they seem wicked
dan: mmmmm, you know what i like that si, maybe we could set up some race of sorts? and then create a 15 minute video with 2 ad's to tell you what a year 8 science class could tell you?
Si: foreallllll dawwwggg, think of the ad sense!
oli blasts in covered in blood
oli: sorry guys, i held them off as long as i could, the road cc guys....i cant
jon saunters in wearing a castelli trench coat handling what can only be described as a campanolo branded jerry rigged shotgun
jon: i've had enough of this shit

Kudos to GCN for the tech tips video, those are pretty good. But they're clearly squeezing blood from the stone with these latest content ideas...

It's almost like the main target audience were Sunday warriors, not hardcore riders or Instagram poseurs.
-
• #16406
Yeah plus not enough.
Waiting on an mtb eqivilant. I like 30 x 10-51 my xtr has. -

hardcore riders
I see what you did there

even road derailleur can just about cope with 11-40 on a 50/34
In every of the 22 gears? Including big-big and small-small?
-
• #16409
To be honest the 2x 46/30 gets you to that gear range and more, with a lowermost ratio not too far from it

My RD7000-GS did, even the 5800 did when paired with the roadlink, but you never use those gears apart from 5s of brain failure before you realize how much you're crossing.
The nice thing of the GRX RD is the clutch, not the gear range

You are obviously going further afield than Richmond park outer path.
-
• #16412
Yup.
Bear in mind this very much depend on the derailleur hangers as not all us created equal.

but you never use those gears apart from 5s of brain failure before you realize how much you're crossing.
Small-small maybe, but it's nice to be able to utilize big-big.
And I'm not sure I agree with the statement that it works if you can't use all gears. But that's another discussion I guess.

Yes someone said 1x though
And proper off road, 1x is better

You know, I saw this nice polished 42/26 double. Together with an 11-28 cassette that would make an awesome drivetrain.

I’ve got 11-42 with an R8000 and 30-46 GRX, it’s fine in all but small small but really shouldn’t be in that gear. I ordered the wrong GRX mech (the 1x rather than the 2x) and can’t get the 2x till end of summer. I don’t tend to find myself in small - small very often!

This is extremely true!
Also heres a dad joke; whats whiter than GCN?
Nothing.

Im after a 40t NW 110bcd chainring if anyone has one laying about!! TIA
-
• #16421
GRX? Their 110bcd is slightly awkward and specific if that's what you're after
-
• #16422
No no no, for good old Sram cranks.
-
• #16423
In the vague hope this is still available, is this still available?
