Said that I’d make a saddle bag for my colleague as a Christmas present, didn’t want to waste / order good material before nailing the pattern, so used up some PU coated nylon / ripstop I had.
Loop for a rear light, loop to attach to seatpost for stability, incorporated the extra side to side strap to allow to overpack it slightly. It will fit 2x road tubes (700 35-50c) or 1x (650 2.25” tube), plus various tools or wallet + keys + phone + small digi cam.
Think I’m comfortable making it again - perhaps order heavier outer fabric or xpac

Are ExtremTextil still shipping to the UK cant seem to find us on the country dropdown list? Wish there was a wider selection of these specialist fabrics in the UK bar Profabrics.com, even so cant imagine it would be anytime soon with Brexit in full swing :(

Just seen someone selling camo XPac on ebay, but £30 for 1/2m delivered is a bit steep for my tastes!

Saw that aswell! Looks different to the other xpac I’ve seen, not sure where they’ve sourced it?

A friend recently had their order cancelled because of Brexit shipping issues, I think they are hoping to get UK postage as an option in the future but for now it's not possible.

Yeah hopefully they will get shipping channels back open, most stuff can be substituted luckily but they did have a great range of synthetic insulation that you just can’t find here sadly.

Don't forget there are lots of different versions of X-pac. Different face fabric weights, different membrane thickness, different grid types, and with/without backing fabric. All with different prices.

Still relatively new to the whole myog way of life haha! I know of the vx21 but didn’t know of all the other variations that I’ve now looked up after reading your reply, great stuff!

Try Adventurexpert.com, I think they have a minimium order value since Brexit though.

Funny you should say that, I was looking on there yesterday but for what I needed the 150 euro minimum for uk delivery was way over what I was going to order. Luckily point north had most of what I wanted and found https://www.contactleft.co.uk/ which sells a pretty decent ammount of various buckles and adjusters.

Thinking of making a handle bar bag for my daughters bike if I can find anything suitable.
Anyone made a bar bag with supports of any kind? If so what did you use? -
• #719
@GoatandTricycle Something similar to the Nitto metal hoop? Unless filling it with heavy things, it's not really needed. Have a look at myriad of bar bags from cottage industries for inspiration.
Two feedbags could be another option depending on daughter's age. -

Hesson Labs does a spacer mounted support, something in that fashion perhaps?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions on padding, only just saw that there were replies! Got another one now – what are you using for lining? I'm using generally 600/1000D nylon for the outers and generic ripstop inside, which is way too lightweight – need something waterproof and sturdy. Can't work out what that a rough equivalent of that 'truck tarpaulin' material that so many US companies use, because what I can find online by searching that is crazy expensive! Any tips? Thanks

Made a couple of caps today from the pattern wizard works sent out. Really pleased with how they turned out! Nice thing they have done with their newsletter I think, sending out these projects.

So nice!
Most of the bags I've been doing are lined now, it's a lot more effort but it elevates it from obviously homemade to maybe homemade. I'm ijmenk on Instagram, I sort of stopped doing posts because nothing was good enough to warrant permanence so it's been stories mostly. But I plan on picking the posting back up, so some of the recent stuff will be posted in the upcoming days.
