Man, I wish.
I picked up this little number. 323i with 100,000 miles on the clock - no rust, fsh, 4 owners etc.
I've been walking past it for 4 years - and I left a handwritten note on the windscreen last week, which just happened to be MOT day.
To be honest, I don't want the hassle of swapping cars, and really don't want to sell the Clio - but a straight 6 E36 has always been on the dream list for me, so I have to make the most of this opportunity. I grabbed a bargain here.
Kind of tempted to give it a wash and list it on ebay.
It'll be getting coilovers and M3 wheels as per the last image.

That's the absolute best colour too! My mum had a Boston Green E36 318is when I was a kid and I've always wanted one since, ideally an M3 obviously but I think the fact that the E36 M3 looks almost exactly like any other E36 coupé is what makes it so nice!
Mike Burroughs S54 swapped E36 is especially great.

My Passat has these as standard, although they’re made of seatbelt material and fit to rails in the boot

The E class can come with either the rails, in which case there’s a seatbelt type thing also, or no rails and the little clip feet things. The telescopic fences fit either the rails or the clip feet things.

Sick. I really enjoy my e46, but I often find myself wishing I’d looked for a 6 cylinder rather than the 4 I’ve got in the 320d.
And as much as I love that Clio, I can totally understand you making the choice - just fucking look at it, pure steez!

Im 58 and had a lot of quite decent cars , a confirmed petrol head .
I drove a BMW I3 yesterday .
So quick to 30mph , genuinely fast , comfy , well put together .
I had a bet with a friend of mine about 10 years ago that in my lifetime I wouldnt be buying an electric car .. bet is lost .
For a second car , or with planning and time an only car , I can’t argue that this isn’t the future .
When you listen to what VW and the major manufacturers are thinking going forward I think 2030 for cease of manufacture is pessimistic.
Im sure i read in Sweden 60% of new cars are BEV.

It was mainly the principle of hitting from the back.
As for the diy rubber mallet you'll have to use your imagination.
Obviously less easy doing it on a muddy bus stop with a OEM jack at a low height /safe to leave kids in the car.

Also I fucking hate getting tyres after a puncture.
- Research tyres online
- Check stock at places open on Sunday
- Settle for what is available
- Get mugged off and constantly battle up selling at kwickfit.

I believe, and the scandis will confirm there, new cars have high purchase taxes and electric cars don't have as high taxes.

That colour is nice.

Love of the Clio, or not feeling the E36?

One way of pushing the green agenda

Or the fear of making a mistake? The clio is a nice silly road car.
Used to get that often when buying cars to sell.

Acid rain damaged forests bring the green agenda forward.

Discovered that it's not anywhere near fast enough, or responsive enough in comparison to Clio or discovered just how much is involved in getting it up to scratch?

You could always move to 'straya where our genius government is still subsidising the development of new coal fired power stations and introducing a tax on EV's. Not so much a green agenda as a head in the sand agenda.

It just made me realise how much peace of mind I have with the Clio, and how much light hearted fun it is.
The E36 is a serious machine. And it does need some work on the interior to get it up-to-scratch. This looks to be costly. A whole interior for a 182, in half leather, costs around £100.

The UK is opening a new coal mine, in a "hold my beer" fashion.
shame I haven't bought anywhere with a garage yet :(
