fair point
I'm quite looking forward to cracking a few cans and settling into a few hours of rugby this weekend.

slight change of approach for me this year - including checking the team-sheet closer to KO
Damn. This was the only thing that kept me in the hunt last time!

The Scotland game this weekend reminds me that I went to the Italy vs Scotland game in Rome this time last year... sorry everyone.
-

No need to be sorry. Italy is by far the best away trip in the 6 nations.
Last time I went there I went with my cousin who used to live in Rome and about 15 other friends. My cousin arranged for us to eat a very nice meal at a posh restaurant that he knew the owners of, we finished the meal and were presented with a 2 litre bottle of home made limoncello.

Nice to see ITV rolling out racist Scott Hastings as a pundit

This drone footage on the line outs, missing most of them, is really shit.

Scots try. Was Daly even trying to tackle the Scots ball carrier?

Duhan van der Merve is probably twice the size of him, and he had Marc Wilson to help him. It was just a great finish that's all.

Itoje has almost single handedly kept England in this he hadn't played a game since the end of the premiership season so technically he's not match fit. The man is a beast!

can we not just naturalise a bunch more south africans and kiwis ?
-
• #3562
Worst England performance I've seen in years. Abject.
-
• #3563
Are England terrified of the 22? Don't want to be anywhere near it

• #3564
Yyyyaaaaaaaaaaaassssss!

Brilliant stuff Scotland, what a performance. Always good to see Eddie Jones' gobshite chat come back to haunt him.

• #3566
I forgot I was watching this out of sync, saw this and shat it for the last 5mins of the game!
Nice one Scotland -
• #3567
I don’t imagine either of these two teams are going to be troubling France

Scotland excellent and outrageous that England were somehow still in the game with a minute left.
England absolutely atrocious.
kick, kick, kick kick, all aimlessly. Bring on Ford to, erm, kick. must have been over 20 pens against, some completely brainless and why when we were a man up did we kick long for 10 minutes thus eating up the sin bin clock and missing the opportunity to exhaust the Scots by making them defend defend defend a man down for 10 mins. Given Redpath had been in England training squads last year (I think) having played for England U-2os, Townsend played a blinder in tying him up at the very earliest opportunityHonestly, pathetic

I didn’t have a proverbial dog in the fight, but that was an awful game. England were woeful, and Scotland did little with the territory, possession and penalty count.

Lol! I don't think we ever looked like losing but still I spent the majority of the last 15 watching through my fingers wondering how we were going to heroically snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

The conditions towards the end of the game were atrocious meaning that when you'd expect Scotland to start flinging it wide and stretching their legs it wasn't on so they were reduced to pick and go in the tight channels which was where England were strongest.

yes, was doing the boys' tea so couldn't clearly see the conditions although it was alluded to on commentary. I mean, for all Slade and Lawrence have to seize the moment, they had next to no ball at all and my god the box kicking was repeatedly poor. In saying that, the forwards struggled to get on the front foot and 'win the collisions' (largely down to Scotland) so we didn't have a great deal of quality ball and every time they strung a few relatively slick phases together it was like they were petrified that the positions had suddenly gone a bit 'organic' and 'loose' and reverted to type by sticking it in behind. Weird lack of confidence

England lucky to finish second...
Dreadful.
England were woeful, and Scotland did little with the territory, possession and penalty count.
@Markyboy hits the nail on the head. Lots of superlatives being heaped on Scotland. They were ok. But ok was plenty good enough and that’s all you have to be. Both sides will get better and they’ll have to. This will be a massive boost for a Scotland side who have threatened to start something for a while (since Vern Cotter), despite their run of results.
Surely this just means you want them to play well and come up just short of Scotland in the rain
