It looks as if there was only the causeway for low(er) tide, whereas at high tide people would have boarded from the river wall/the steps.
I also found that someone has done a virtual 3D model of the causeway for armchair visitors.

Made with:
2772 photos taken in February 2020 with a Sony a6000 and processed in Agisoft Metashape.

yes, that would make more sense

Surely no one needs another clue do they? I'm beginning to suspect that some of you don't spend your evenings browsing the websites of boutique estate agents.

We're not playing unless you produce a 3D model of your tag from nearly 3,000 photos. Standards have risen, I'm afraid.

@oat44 & @Oliver Schick and everyone else on this thread.
Sitting out here, in the valley of the Mighty Pinn,
it is good to be reminded that some Londoners are more focussed on another of London's rivers.
Thanks for the illuminating links. -
• #24308
Well, I suppose it can't always be all about the Pinn.
-
• #24309
Certainly not, I mean, we're no longer happy with second or lower places in international ultra races or Grand Tours, either.
-
• #24310
Yes, it is only the pinnultimate river of west London.

New, clue: “ Minds, like bodies, will often fall into a pimpled, ill-conditioned state from mere excess of comfort”
Surprised this hasn’t been tagged yet! Apologies if it did!

A bit more specific location for the old tag would be nice, I think this is on Drysdale Place.
-
• #24314
It is Drysdale street, not just her art but her home.

It's both, really--the address is in Drysdale Street, but the tag itself is in Drysdale Place.

ha see, i missed this part of the clue, makes sense now!
I mean it is a lot of money but really "There is nothing better than to see an amazing colour in the right environment. It can change your whole mood" - Morag Myerscough
anyway if someone wants to check this out it's in Drysdale place, just round the corner from Drysdale street

I once fell in this very spot when a skinny wheeled bike I was riding sank into that drain you can see on the right. In my defence, it was dark.

And you were undoubtedly inebriated?
-
• #24319
I did a 3d Google satellite view tour of the river bank
This comment has made me wonder if I've made the right choices in life.
-
• #24320
Actually, no, I was on my way to a party, wherein to become inebriated.
Grrr I resemble that remark, you!
-
• #24321
Skully, no one who has met you would have any doubt that you have definitively not made the right choices in life, so I wouldn't spend too much time overthinking it.

You are 'Barnaby Rudge' aicmfp.

Old: Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, just off Fleet Street. Many literary connections, as the clue suggests.
It was also the home of the Rhymers' Club in the 1890s, a group of decadent poets with a penchant for wine, experimentation, and, in hindsight perhaps, less than wise life choices.
leading naturally to the new tag...
Ode to Skülly ;)

Any clue to help us find this latest beauty spot?

You really shouldn't go round tagging Will's graffiti.
I think the old ferry left from the end of that causeway, or that causeway supported some kind of pier.
I also found that someone has done a virtual 3D model of the causeway for armchair visitors.
