So the planet-x winter boots arrived today.
They are actually of a much better quality than expected. They looked a bit shit in the pictures but they feel pretty good. However I ordered a UK 11 / eu46
Length wise they are fine but I have pretty broad feet and feel I'd be better with a size 12. I've just ordered a size 12 and will return these.
I think if you are a size 10 normaly these would be a comfy fit or would suit size 11 if you don't have especially broad feet. But before I bother sending them back to planet x does anyone here want them for fifty quid posted?
Size 46 in black is now out of stock, there were 22 pairs in stock when I ordered these.
Any takers? I paid £7 postage on them and will likely pay about the same returning them. But if anyone here is keen send me a pm

It’s son’s crying part deux. I’ve eyed up a candidate for a slightly lighter-weight burner. For temps above 3. The other one is actually a winter burner. Sweated in it today.
This new one even has a name tag like pro team. Unfinished.

I just got mine today so went for a little test ride. Seem good quality, especially for £50. Warm, and seem to stand up to water from puddles etc. Mine are size 43 (same size as my shimano shoes) and fit well. The real test will be on my commutes this week when it looks like it's going to be rainy - I imagine the ankle cuff will be the weak link

Just took a punt on these, thermal tights for £14.99 (down from £34.99). Should be warm as if I wear them over a pair of thermal bib shorts.

Do update with how you get on. Social services are very interested.

Be keen to know how you get on with those.

Sure, will report back. I'd been riding Albion bib tights for about a month before choosing to go for thermal overtights. The Albion tights are good, but the chamois is a little soft, and they're not warm below 5 degrees. I had to wear them with knee warmers underneath, which was both a faff and impractical.

Spatz "Thrmoz" gloves - Good good good. Little bit bulky on the fingertips, I suppose that's why they included the index finger peephole (brilliant). Will try more tomorrow.

I'm gutted. I think I've lost my Rapha Winter Gloves. Is there anything else I should entertain before I buy a new pair?

I’ve been using some past season Rab insulated and waterproof. They have a leather palm. I can find out model if interested about £30

I googled furiously and found some PedalEd ones on sale!

Right, have now done five 2hr rides in these this week.
Appreciate it’s not been all that cold (low was about 2deg) but it was chillier at the start of the week, what with it being windy all the time and the lanes round here are like ditches with ponds of standing water.
Results - warm, dry feet. So far, really good, would recommend. -

@crossedthread @TotalShanner @pacef8 did any of you order the Galibier gloves and if so what your first impressions?

I got mine just the other day after I realised that I failed to actually complete the purchase on the website! Nearly emailed asking why they were taking so long... doh
They so far look and feel excellent. Really pleased with the quality. I went out on a short 30 minute spin going quite slow in an attempt to get my fingers cold. When I got home and took them off my hands were slightly sweaty. Ideal!
They are a little bulky and but I guess this is the price you pay for the warmth. The price is great when you factor in free postage. I might actually buy another pair!

Good to hear. Each time I’ve forgone Velotoze recently my feet ended up soggy .... so I might go for some of those.

2hrs at around 2/3degrees and windy, these are going to be perfect when it's really cold.
Warm as toast (and as @TotalShanner says), bit sweaty, little bulky but waaaayyy better that lobster mitts, highly recommend. Bought XL as usually take a L glove but these fit, er, like a, what's the word... -

Used them this morning on the commute . Temp was about 4 degrees so hands where toasty and alot warmer than my winter chibas. The medium is true to size . Thumb feels a little tight but they are new and i am sure they will loosen up . For 25 quid you get a lot of glove . A good tight wrist closure . Sleeve needs to go over this not under . They didnt sweat much this afternoon after 2 hours so overall if they dont shrink when soaked they are recommended as a deep winter glove .
Yeah I ordered some too. From what I read they might not be terrible.
