My brother and I fell out the other day because he was pedalling the "let the old and weak chance their arm or stay in isolation so the rest of us can get on with it" thing... you know... like the Nazis.
Is my brother a baddie? He's a fucking baddie isn't he!

Do you guys think I could nip to France, stay a few days then come back without having to quarantine, if I test negative for covid?
No

At the mo, it is no more than talk.
Could be, seeing someone for last time. But then it is the fear of infecting them and others too. While I do stuff that is not essential.
@Scrabble Read that and it is not a holiday as such. Find it annoying that quite a few seem to flaut the laws and I feeling a bit if others are doing then why should I.
Suspect (in my mind) safer to go via euro tunnel than go via eurostar. Then the cost is quite high and thought two birds.

You may not be allowed in, the French rules are fairly strict. Have a look at https://uk.ambafrance.org/COVID-19-new-rules-for-travel-to-France-and-the-UK
Looks like you have to self isolate for 7 days on arrival in France too.

Yeah saw that France are doing 7 days and the english car will be obvious.
So would have to take the cats, which means more expense and issues as the pet passports are no longer valid.
Arse.

Probably just stressed. Remind him that if the nhs were to be overwhelmed and breakdown people would die needlessly.
-
• #20709
Oh I did. Unfortunately I may have reminded him at high volume.

A large number of infected people gives the virus more chance to mutate into a variant that is more lethal to your brother.

Is he 'Wrongercog' or 'Wrongestcog'?
-
• #20712
Well, he certainly isn't Rightcog.

Given a guaranteed full and swift recovery, I'd say the coma option is looking pretty attractive frankly.
-
• #20716
Interesting that he's managed to catch Covid twice but the article doesn't state how.

Being in a hospital for 10 months breathing Covid-laden air, I'd imagine. Re-infection with Covid is rare, but not unheard of.

Some people I know in their late 60s are now getting offers of vaccination here in east London. Earlier than they expected.

We’re gonna clap for an old man whose government failed to protect?

The North Central London hub is taking 65+ appointments starting this week as the 70+ tier is over 80% complete.
I think there has to be overlap of tiers to keep the volume going through the clinics steady

If he chose to go to Barbados, how is it the governments fault?
Im sure he and his family were well aware of the risks and balanced it with a chance to tick of something from a 100 year old's bucket list..
Anyway here is some more good news
