Thanks, that gives me confidence
Last time I tried I ended up in a downward spiral of overtraining that took 6 months to get out of, on the plus side I hope to learn from my mistakes.

You need to pay attention to what you're doing then and back off before it turns to shit. I find it pretty obvious if I've been overdoing something and I'm smart enough nowadays to know the resting when it's all getting too much is more important than being the hero that bangs out one more day.

If you did it once and overtrained then it doesn't sound like you learned from your mistakes, or are you changing other things? Don't mean to be harsh, but unless something has changed then it's a bit of a gamble.
I've done 4 weeks of SSB1 HV and I'm taking the recovery week now, a week early. I feel pretty good but it's uncharted territory in terms of indoor volume so I'm erring on the side of caution. On top of that, I wasn't riding as much before I started so my ramp test was prob on the low side, everything has felt quite manageable so far.

This. I worked out that just before I fall apart is when I feel at my strongest and somewhat invincible, suspect pushing that little bit harder sends me over the edge. This time around I've been paying much closer attention to volume/intensity, making adjustments earlier and playing the long game, so far so good.

On the flipside, for racers with no events, lockdown with no events is a great time to totally fuck yourself up. I've ditched all my SS stuff and I'm doing HIIT stuff - shit I haven't done for 15 years.
Bonus is it's much easier to set power pbs for 5s than it is for 4 hours :)

I have promo codes if any one is in need ...

I have reached peak Zwift.
I am looking at trainer road for some lockdown inspiration. I am mainly interesting in maintaining fitness. So is a ramp test the way forward? -
• #1459
Ramp test will give TR an idea of what resistance to apply during workouts.
You will learn with time how to ride a ramp test. And your ftp calculation will likely improve and you’ll then have to work harder during turbo sessions.

I’ve got a few referral codes if you want to try free for a month.

Not really paying attention is it a separate beta product? Are they going to build it into the main plan builder thing?

"Everyone getting "504 errors" that's just your new FTP"

Closed beta - presume it will eventually integrate with plan builder

Yeah, I wonder how long it will run for. I'm not using TR at the moment anyway but if I move back to it, it'd be interesting to see what this does.

This sounds so so good. Would have avoided a recent overreach (was my fault) and or altered the future schedule.
Think I've been accepted to the beta.

What are the chances that in 6 months time Trainerroad's new Ai will have everyone on a polarised training plan?
-
• #1472
About 20% chance but no more ;)
-
• #1473
So when is the adaptive training going to be released to the masses?
-
• #1474
I would love to see the AI go rogue and launch a scorched earth attack on... wait a minute...

They interview someone from trainer road about the AI training on the latest episode of The Cycling Podcast https://pca.st/episode/bffbbf4e-92de-4514-b8b9-9009ecab93b9
There isn't much else to do at the moment
