Ah - well that’s because despite charging six grand they didn’t want to actually use applied indices.
This is the original 1968 reference:
That has applied markers and a matching date window.
Seiko have had a thing on their divers watches for a while where they decided not to use any applied logos or markers, supposedly so that there is no risk of anything falling off the dial in use if the watch takes a knock.
So what they do on all divers below GS level is stamp the markers through from the rear as part of the dial, and then machine them flat. This was one of the big complaints about the SLA017. The original 62MAS had super sharp box markers and an applied logo.

I can’t wait to see what other colour they will release for the SPB18X series speaking of Marinemaster.

I want a PADI one. Matte black dial, no funny business, just a Pepsi bezel and a rubber strap.
This, but the newer model.

I’m a massive fan of the hand in the SPB18X, can imaging how a Pepsi bezel look.
I want it with a bit of gold like the SPB147.

Nah, I ordered on the 29th Dec and they had some extra discount offer on top of the 10%.
That said, a few months ago I was looking at an Oris, added to my basket to work out the final price but changed my mind and left it. The next day I had an email from them asking if I’d like to complete the purchase and here’s an extra 10% off too! Worth a try at least... -

Anyone looking for a Hesalite Speedy at a discount? :-)

Really like that Edox North Sea 1978 and yes, wild story.
An Inverse Moon Landing watch would be a tidy Through the looking Glass compliment to a Moonwatch

Not judging but already?!?!?

The second time is in the little window?

This time it’s the winding. It’s been a week and I’ve worn it for maybe 2 days, but kept it wound and it’s annoying me already. Sausage fingers, I guess. I wonder if the new one is much different, some people say the crown is a bit bigger.

You wind it off the wrist? I've always found it enjoyable, part of the relationship with the watch.

Yes, of course.
I find the Hamilton to be much more enjoyable, I can actually grab the crown and get a good feel for it. The Speedy, not so much. And the FOIS was even worse - felt like the bezel was getting in the way.

Well if you don't get on with it, get rid. Personally I feel that all collections should have a Submariner and a Speedmaster as they're such classics, but no point owning a watch you don't want to wear.
-
• #51370
I agree wholeheartedly. I love everything about that watch apart from that “small” problem. And I can’t own a watch I won’t wear.

😂😂😂
You only say that because you have a sub and a speedy.
I'd like a sub (id prefer a sea Dweller) but I don't think one should definitely have any one watch.
I bet you, even on this biek forum, some of this lot will have a cracking collections, and have neither.
What logic are you following? Most well known watches in various brands? With this logic, you should also have a Nautilus, royal oak and so on.

Any suggestions for a strap adjustment tool? The one I have is a cheapo plastic one like this with massive amounts of play so it's impossible to line anything up.

Anyone know of a cheap small watch that has min numerals on the outside and hour numerals on the inside close to the hour hand like on a children's flkxflak?
Not sure I can get fully behind that either: why the emphasis (ie bold border)?
I don't think I'm alone in being puzzled as to why watchmakers in general, can't make the date window less obtrusive/incongruous.
My simplistic take is that I would like to see whatever is at 9 o'clock, at 3 o'clock but with the date instead of lume.
That being said, I've yet to see a date window that would stop me buying a watch.
