What's the clearance like on the frame? Reckon I could fit an 11speed cassette on the rear as well?!

Hmmm, I’ll ask if he has photos, it was 3x10 for at least a year before ss with those tyres

Assume straggler is similar to a CC, enough clearance. More if I wound the dropout screw out. Also running 11s.

Cross check in progress. Still contemplating guards but do want a silver headset and a small front rack to lose the handlebar mount. Set up single speed currently.

Very nice, is that a 52cm? Thinking of getting one but can't decide between 52 and 54, how tall are you if you don't mind me asking?

I’m just shy of 5’ 10”, apparently shrinking. 90 mm stem on, I tend to like a fairly short reach. Interesting the reach numbers don’t seem to rocket up on the cross check.

You sound the same as me, I ride a 53cm steamroller and it's fine, the geo looks pretty much the same as the 52cm crosscheck apart from the headtube which is about 10cm smaller, so thinking 54cm maybe kinder to the old back.

I could probably ride the 54 quite happily but all the surly’s are so low no matter what size you choose you end up with a mega stack. Plus @Cupcakes gave me a great deal...

This looks awesome. Really miss my Straggler.

If only I'd known it would be 18 months after I sold the cross check before my new bike was done... :)

Straggler fork on an OS head tube (44mm) steel frame - will it look dumb? A bit like sticking one on a Midnight Special I suppose....

Picked this frameset up off the classifieds on here a while back - it's my bad weather/commuter/canal path thing. Still tinkering with the fit, such long reach for a 50. But fun nevertheless. The majority of the build was stripped off a vitus substance, hence the awful cable situation that needs addressing! - anyone else got big hate for apex rear mechs? Dreadful!

Yeah I was! Took the canals, up through Mow Cop, down into Congleton then the 55 back home.
