Is that the Mersey? I read that it’s at the highest ever recorded level in Sale.

Top one is Bridgewater canal I think, others are the Mersey near Northernden, none are my photos.

This is the wettest I can remember and it’s just got heavier. Mate of mine is very nervous in Northernden right now.

A welcome break from the incessant rain and grey cloud here in the far south west. Dry and still but dropping towards freezing now the sun’s gone down.

^ Are you planning on reinstating the mine pump to get your share of the Cornish Lithium Rush?

Depending on how far down into the ground the ownership of my house and the land on which it sits extends I might have a controlling interest in the extraction of said mineral.
When I lived about 1/2 mile from here you could sometimes hear and feel the blasting from the mine through the floor.

Mine is taken half a mile from the former home of the Met Office. This sort of thing isn't expected. Down with it, I say.

First time the boy has seen snow - he's equally excited that Santa will come back and worried there might be polar bears in the garden.

I assume you've told him that he's right on both counts?

Does he know The Father Christmas Letters by Tolkien? That has Father Christmas and a polar bear.
