If you do I'd recommend a machine. Doesn't have to be an expensive one, but they make life much easier.
Don't ever bother making gnocchi. It takes ages and isn't any better than the bought stuff.
Not relevant for people in this thread; but for any of the youth that have accidentally stumbled across this thread pasta making is a great early stages home date.
