Jaffa thinks he is king of our house, he's probably right.

Kids made the cat a bed out of an Amazon box, bubble wrap and a towel. Seems to be a hit
Though we prob could have put a bed of nails next to the rad and he would have slept on it

Boy cat has learnt to get between my feet or where I'm going to step.
He is going to get injured, or I am.

The dog thread insurance chat reminded me of something to post here.
Fabric only saw one vet during his 12 year life so I was able to ask the vet for a breakdown of how much we paid in vets bills. Just over £5,000!
Fabric was mostly uninsurable because of his genetic heart defect. Most of the costs were down to heart diagnostics (although we didn't go too far down that route), arthritis treatments and dental work.
Thought I'd share the number here just in case it helps people make insurance decisions or helps somebody budget for getting a cat.

AldiLidl were selling pet tipis just before Christmas, so I bought one. It took a couple of days and some applications of cat nip, but she bloody loves it. Even tho it’s maybe a wee bit too small for her.

They get into your soul these little fuckers. I mentioned up thread that my parent’s two cats were ailing and had survived a couple of drain circling trips to the vet. Well one went in and didn’t come out this morning. I’ve never heard my dad sob that much. Not during any human loss. Very sad.
Those cats were so lucky. Of all the houses in all the world they ended up in the one where you get to spend your last morning being spoon fed syrupy porridge in bed.

God damn - they do and all. I’ve been step father to 2 cats for the past couple of years and can’t imagine a time without them. Love the floofy little buggers, and they love getting involved in something that looks complicated.

Bought this small crunchy tunnel thing for our kittens.
Not interested. They’d rather take the insoles out of my trainers and climb the arms of the sofa
Was £10, basically unused, smoke free home, anyone want it for £5?https://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/baby-bea-pop-up-cat-tunnel-7132531p--1

Snip snip. What a shit day he’s had, first no food, then some bastard cuts his bollocks off, then this plastic collar to maximise the humiliation...

I prefer all cats, to most humans. Especially ones that I have shared a womb.

Ah, sorry to hear that. They certainly do. It comes to us all I’m afraid. Having a pet means one day you’ll have to say goodbye. I’ve had to do it a few times and it doesn’t get any easier, and I know that when Dizzy has to go I’ll be useless for a week. It’s a price we pay, I guess. At least we can ensure they have the best lives we can give them, and it seems like your dad did his bit for his.

Ta.
We've pulled up the carpet on the stairs which is where the cat likes to sleep. He's been testing out new sleeping spots which have included on some bubble wrap and on the filthy bike grease covered sheet behind the bikes.
