that topic has a bit on slipping 3t seatposts

I presume you've added carbon paste to the mix?
Can you stick a stick (or something suitable) underneath the post so the seatpost hits it at the right height and stops.

Yes pasted up
The stick could work. Otherwise I'm covering the seatpost in epoxy and setting it to the right height and being done with it

I think that would be my first option.

The frame was essentially free, I just paid for the parts so I think I might as well. Currently its not able to be ridden so it can't end up worse

That was my thinking too. It's on at least it's second chance at life, so why not.

Can you get a Coke can shim down the front to take up the slack? Might do the trick.

That was option #2. But life is too short...

I’m guessing it’s not di2? Otherwise a glued seatpost is going to get difficult to rewire...
Also which way does the disc brake hose go? Top tube or down tube?

• #186
No, Sram force, everything goes (badly) routed down the downtube

FFS, you could drive a bus down the gap between the frame and the post.

Is anybody able to offer advice on this scratch/damage?
It's on a carbon fork and I'd like to know if it's just surface level or if it's going to affect the structural integrity of the bike.

I've done more damage just looking at bikes wrong. I'd ride it.

Good trick for initial inspection is to tap gently on and near the damage with a coin. If it’s buggered, it will make a dull ‘thunk’ and will feel like you’re tapping on hard rubber. Compare with the healthy carbon around it, which should make a sharp ‘clank’ and will feel like the coin is hitting a hard surface.
Edit- if you’re concerned, a pro inspection isn’t a bad idea, and it’ll be cheaper than the dental bills from a fork failing on you at speed...

2 sqaero fails, even the new clamp design didnt improve things as they split in the corners instead

I have this old Tune Komm Vor + saddle which has taken a knock at some point and on one side the saddle rails have come away from the body. What would be the correct glue to reattach this? I tried araldite but it didn't hold. Or is it just fit for the bin?

Is that what they said to Connery in You Only Live Twice?
