  • Ha, that would be just the ticket. :)

    Can't wait.

    List:

    1) metrocammell
    2) Oliver Schick
    3)

  • Be sure to let Wests know when Vergine Maria opens.

  • Trump's fucking off tomorrow, in case you hadn't heard. Any suggestions for American recipes for a celebratory dinner?

  • Sugar syrup on (fake I guess) meat of some kind, 5 portions each.

  • All the McDonald’s?

  • Didn’t ask on the Vegan thread for no reason.

  • Got some of the Richmond sausages on order, looking forward to them. Anyone tried the 'heck' range?

  • Anyone tried the 'heck' range?

    No, nor will I.

  • That's it! I knew I wasn't buying them for a reason, but couldn't remember why. Really hard to keep track of everyone I've got an ethical objection to... #veganproblems

  • Yep,
if only there was a 'Boycott Everything' thread?
I'm all for vegan food becoming mainstream,
(it is the only way forward for humankind),
    but,
no-one gets a free pass for consorting with the enemy along the way.

  • I must be missing something... remain supporting business invites (edit - likely future)PM who is in the area for hustings to try to find out how Brexit will affect them as they have lots of EU national staff? I can’t stand Boris Johnson, but none of that seems unreasonable. What have I missed?

  • Vegan expedition (freeze dried) food, what's good folks?
I have a week long trip and need to keep the weight down. Access to hot water isn't an issue.

  • I've heard good things about Firepot, though I haven't tried personally yet. I will be, though I have concerns about relatively low calorie count

  • You trying the never-been-done in winter north face of the staircase to the landing from basecamp kitchen?

  • Firepot

Good to know, they are one of the brands I've seen. Want to try a couple out before I'm stuck eating something I can't stand!

  • Ha, not quite so challenging. Deadwater, a 6 day stage race on foot.

Edit: assuming that by late August stuff will be allowed to happen again.

  • The brand was acquired by the same company that owns Vango and a few other camping/outdoors brands, but I think the founders still run it from Devon, so it’s a fairly decent “shop local” box ticker as well (relatively)

  • Yikes! Now that’s a challenge.

  • Just had another thought - any pot/instant noodles that are vegan (and readily available)?

  • Lots of cheap Korean/Japanese instant noodles are vegan if you're near somewhere that stocks that sort of thing! You can get all sorts of weird and wonderful flavours. The little Sainsbury's near me has a few.
Also, I think a few super noodles (and generic own brand knock offs) and a few pot noodles are as well.

  • Need a pot noodle. Right. Now.

  • A Bombay bad boy with a dollop of peanut butter and some sriracha was my go to after a few beers. So shit but so good.

  • Good to see this thread is still going strong... I can confirm that Morrison’s own Cumberland bangers are banging as are Naked (if you can find them) but wouldn’t bother with Heck... the way they were packed on the shelf, they ended up like one bit congealed mess... they looked more like “real” bangers, as they were quite pink in colour... I wouldn’t go there again. Burger wise, Lidl’s own were amazing but it seems like everyone else thought the same and I can’t get them for love nor money... I’ve now gone with Meatless Farm, which are pretty much the same but you can buy them... cheap in Lidl at the mo, so I’m buying 2 packs at a time. Don’t think I saw anything on here about Heinz making Salad Cream vegan... time will tell in how it tastes... I don’t think there are any vegan company alternatives either to compare to which is a shame.
