I've got an 8.3 on the go at the minute, easily the most fragile octomore I've had. Touch of water opens it up nicely but you have to be really careful as it doesn't take much to wash it out.

Just looked up the 8.3 and have got a bit confused. I thought each release (x.1,2,3 etc) was the same base spirit matured in different ways but I seem to be way out as the 8.3 is a 5yr and the 8.2 is an 8yr. What’s the relationship between the bottles from each release or is it purely that they’re released together?

Octomore 8.2 this evening. First time I’ve opened the bottle in what must be almost a year and it’s really, really good. Wine casks sometimes leave a bit of astringency but I think because this one was mainly in dessert/sweet wine casks you’re not getting any of that and just loads of fruit instead
