  • Could be. This is 128gb?

  • Go on then. PM'd

  • What's a decent music player that I can transfer files from my mac to? Currently using iTunes on that but understand that's going to be defunct soon so happy to install a new player on there as well.

  • Any recommendations for mobile £150 or under with vanilla Android and 1080p screen? Like the look of the OnePlus Nord N100 but the 720p screen is a drawback?

@ltc I tend to use Android file transfer and download them as Mp3's to/from the desktop and Google Play Music.

  • What are people using for printing to pdf now that the Google cloud print has ended? Is there a none cloud option out there

  • Doesn't it still let you print to PDF? Are you using Chrome and on what device?

  • Using an oppo phone. Same issue on Chrome or using apps.
If I have cloud print enabled I get directed to this page https://support.google.com/android/answer/10177839?p=cloudprint&visit_id=637461612161395798-1341597106&rd=1

  • I'm on a pixel 4?5? Whatever is the latest one. I'm using Chrome. I tap the 3 dots for menu. Scroll down to share. In the second row is an option to Print, then just tap it and select PDF and it either save locally or send where I want it.

  • Google Play Music isn't a thing anymore unfortunately! That's what I was using before.

Cheers but this brings up the Preview bit I screenshotted above and then, if I choose print, I get the Migrate from cloud print.

  • Tempted to pull the trigger on an S21. Can't decide whether to keep the S8 as backup or take the £95 trade-in (screen is cracked) Samsung are offering.

What's the practicalities of getting a second giff gaff sim and using that while out riding etc.? Presume contacts and everything else connected to google will sync fine, but whatsapp is tied to the phone number, correct?

  • I got an S20 a few weeks ago. It has a problem maintaining a WiFi connection with my Google Home network. After a lot of digging it sounds like its a Samsung fault affecting all S20s. Quite disappointed that they still haven't fixed or even acknowledged the problem 11 months after release.

I'm a bit of a Samsung fanboi who owns a lot of Samsung kit. I won't be considering another Samsung phone until I see how they resolve the WiFi problem with the S20. Not impressed.

It has been a while since I used a dual SIM device but iirc I think whatsapp supports two different accounts on a dual sim phone. As you suggest, you can't share the same account between two sims.

The most tiresome practicality is that you have to have each giff gaff sim on a separate account. As you say, WhatsApp is tied to a phone number, but for a Jersey-pocket beater that's not really a problem.

  • hat's the practicalities of getting a second giff gaff sim and using that while out riding etc.?

Worth adding, my old S9 was excellent at making it easy to choose which number to use for calls and texts...they do make it really simple to manage things when you have two sims.

  • Yeah I'd realised that, doesn't feel like too big a deal. However looking at giff gaff's website I can't actually see charges for data outside a goody bag, or whether that's even supported.

Any other PAYG recommendations for minimal amounts of data? Voice calls would be pretty much emergency only.

  • giffgaff 25p/min for calls, 5p/mb for data on payg.

For a low user try 1p mobile instead

They don't do block data like they used to, the rates for PAYG data are buried somewhere in the tariff info. I haven't looked for alternatives as I don't need data on my Jersey-pocket phone.

They got rid of data only.

  • Email just in says that'll be increased to 10p/MB next month.

Thanks for other replies, reckon I'll just order another SIM and see how it goes.

  • Had something similar with my S20 FE, reset network settings seemed to help if i recall correctly.

  • Woke up this morning to absolutely brutal battery drain on my Note 8 - it's at less than 50% after unplugging it 2 hours ago. It did this briefly a couple of weeks ago but force stopping everything, doing a soft reset and then recharging it fixed it, but now whatever I do it just ticks down like crazy. It's more than 3 years old obviously and I got it refurbished so maybe that's just what I should expect, but it's so weird that it's gone from reasonable battery life to less than 5 hours overnight. Chrome and YouTube are the biggest battery culprits although that's to be expected since I'm WFH and keep fiddling with my phone and having videos in the background, but I was still getting to the end of the work day before charging it before.
Really wish I didn't have to spend my savings on getting my teeth fixed because if I could I'd take it as a sign that I needed an upgrade. I guess I can try a hard reset if nothing improves.

  • Tried that, didn't work but tbh, whats the harm in trying everything again?
