Expensive, but I really rate the Dissent 133 gloves. Different layers you can combine depending on the conditions. I cracked out the silk liner, mid layer and waterproof outer on Sat in -1C and it was great.

They quote velominati 🙄
I'd use a fleece glove and the a windproof barrier mitt if you need. But keeping hands warm starts with keeping core and arms warm. Work from the chest out.

Been wearing these cutting about Glasgow at -5.5. Decent for the price

Thanks, I was close to ordering the Specialized gloves since the reviews are quite good but these are half the price.
They are a British company aye? Just read the blurb on the website and they sound decent. Seem to offer a good repair service too.
Do you own anything else by them? Hadn't heard of them until now. Prices look pretty keen, the insulated jacket looks good value.

I would give them a blast. Small British company.
I've bought a few bits from them and the quality is decent and customer service is good.
And the gear is well priced!

Aye edited my post there to ask if you had anything else, do you have any jackets by them?

I have a Mistral foul II weather Jacket . Had it 3 years and I rate it. Although I don't buy a lot of fancy cycling gear, so don;t have a lot to compare it to.
It's kept me warm in all weather....

Ah gutted, was about to ask one last question on what size you have, but the the large and extra large are out of stock!
Edit - theres a note at the top saying email them to reserve a pair due in on the delivery on the 19th, have fired them a request. Cheers!

I can vouch for Dissent 133 gloves as well... although the windproof/showerproof outer gloves are just that, I got caught out a few weeks ago in torrential rain and can confirm that my hands turned to unusable slabs

Reserved a set myself and got a reply straight away . Someone should mention this thread to them .

Nice. Thats 30 minutes I've been waiting for a reply on a Monday night... tic-toc
Wait, unless you mean you just reserved a set tonight or at some point previously?

Thanks, those gloves do look rather spiffing, but at close to one hundred quid they are beyond my price range!

Ah nice, I'll sit tight.

I think we just crashed their site !

But it’s actually multiple pairs that will cover six months of riding. I reckon I’ve spent more than that on separate pairs to cover the seasons. I don’t think these sets are bad value.

I think Northern Irish so technically depends on who you ask haha. I have an old pair of those gloves when they were fully reflective and I really like them, but they've gone smelly now after many years of use. I'll probably buy another pair but I really like that the ones I have are reflective all over. I used them with a silk liner when it was ~0-5C
I have some other small bits from them and they're all decent.
I plan on getting one of their insulated gilets and a jacket at some stage. Their designs on some bits can be a bit naff though which is a pity because it all looks good quality.
I can second that their customer service is good too. And they have a repair service

Ah fair play, I didn't really look too much into it, just seen the price and thought nah.
Looked again and realise that the £95 bad boy is actually more like a liner and three pairs of gloves. It doesn't seem so pricey with that. -

Yeah its the jackets I like the look of. I don't really need any more cycling kit right now, I tend to literally rip the arse out it before I buy anything new, but the insulated Colombière jacket looks not bad for seventy bangers.

Galibier Barrier 3 Overshoes
Please do. I think I need something like these.

I rate Hestra for gloves: lots of sizes and (by design) their liners fit their main gloves and shell gloves in the same size.
My hands are usually ok with whatever gloves temp-wise though so I'll stfu.

I think my problem is that my Castelli gloves are just shit, but Ive put up with them for three winters and just moaned and not done anything about it.

I've had cold hands for years. Throw in some ulnar nerve damage from riding too much and working too hard really limits the blood flow in my hands. Finally had enough this winter and went for a pair of black diamond punisher winter gloves. They are climbing gloves and my train of thought was if someone can operate a carabiner using them at 4000m in the howling wind and sub zero temperatures then they are worth a try.
Rave reviews and all climbing forums and they have solved all my problems. Just in from a late, soggy, freezing 90 minutes in the first and hands are dry and toasty. Sizing is also accurate. £60 on amazon was the best price I found.
Thanks, I'll give these a look!
