I'm only 187cm but have long thighs and have never done that with 130mm stems. Nipped my knees on the back of the stem once or twice though but never on a road bike. They look shit however and I can't solo for toffee so I wont be buying a pair anyway....

A long TT makes it easier to adhere to the 5cm UCI handlebar rule on a track bike with drops. Most people dont have a separate pursuit bike and so end up with a short stem on their TT bars.

Easy. Just claim that 'normally' you only have your hands on the bars, but you rest your arms on them when on the rivet giving it ze beenz. No different to the draped forarms stance seen so often at present.

by that some rule? that would ban riding with no hands generally by extension no? i figure they interpret that as there can't be a structure on the bicycle for supporting anything other than feet, hands, ass.

You looking for a joxe answer or serious one, lol?
Serious answer is the cardboard panel reduces flutter behind the ST in a straight line and reduces flow spill between the two sides in yaw situations. Think of it a bit like the shark fin on the F1 cars in 2017. It also packs the gap out slightly. So as hilarious as it might have seemed, it had a marginal gain!
But having said that, the disturbed flow behind the ST would have created less drag when the back wheel passed through it. You’ll have to wait until I’ve figured out how to fire up this old wind tunnel and have a play!

78kg rider, 60cm non-aero supersix evo frame. Mostly riding Hertford/Essex. Flat/rolling/short steep climbs. Bearing in mind the odd trip for more mountainous riding abroad.

For emergencies? I ride the Michelin latex tubes with 60mm valves, so I guess a 56 pushing it?
I’m looking at Light Bicycle AR46 or AR56 so minimal price difference and I assume same durability.
