A police officer received head injuries from a fire extinguisher at the scene of the riot and died some time later. That's enough to show what type of people were there.

The cop who died was hit over the head with a fire extinguisherm was seemingly fine straight after but collapsed in the office a long time later. Points to a brain injury but as of yesterday cause of death hadn't been established.

Not saying that they're not a bunch of violent fuckwits, but beating the crap out of people is not quite the same as actually using and throwing molotov cocktails and using the guns you have brought into the capitol on unarmed people and the police.
The fervent bravery on social media without the fear of repercussion dissipates in the face of the national guard turning up with shotguns and full body armour. Or maybe even just some mace in the eyes.

I think that with all the noise and posturing with guns and body armour, most of the people who rioted wouldn’t have the conviction or balls to shoot a police officer, or follow through with hostage taking.
Fortunately.
Not to say that they wouldn’t shoot you if you trespassed on their land, but when it comes to it, don’t think they would genuinely risk putting their life on the line supporting Trump.
