You pissing round the garden also works apparently.

Sorry, Dov. Busy this morning. Can come round later with Theo if that's any good?

Do not go for an ultrasonic jobbie. A) they don’t work. B) despite manufacturer claims, people can hear them and they’re annoying as fuck.
-
• #41232
Agreed.

Savages.
Got a couple of plumbers coming out today, will let ya know how it goes.
Maybe I should have waited on the bathroom refurb so we could have debated them for months. I just pulled the trigger on all the taps and sanitary wear because I have been procrastinating too much.
Toying with saving some money and using tiles from tops tiles rather than Claybrook, worried about over spending on what is essentially a small cheap (for The London) victorian terrace house. -

We have a fox living on our flat roof. Little bastard scared the crap out of me when I was inspecting the roof the other day.
In other news, we get new neighbours today or this week, with our lovely neighbour leaving after living in the same house for over 40 years. I'm nervous. -

All good guys. Got the fridge in.
-
• #41236
Seconded – I've had a pretty good success rate with this.
Also seconding the ultrasonic assessment. One of our allotment neighbour has one, which is justified because the rodents have had all our pea seedlings, but also it is super annoying. I'm 31, 6' and have played in metal bands for 15 years so really shouldn't be able to hear those things but I massively can.

All fingers intact?

I picked up a couple of cheapo amazon ultrasonic zappers motion detectors when foxes were doing this. It stopped overnight and hasn't started back since.
Edit:I can't hear them - my daughter and friends could though - we covered up the sensor when in the garden. Although reading comments above, maybe I'm being super antisocial by having them..

I would have just taken the buggered door off the new fridge in the van, and given the driver the buggered door off the fridge in the kitchen!
I'm not one for physical exertion as you know though.

How do I decide on how to lay them? Draw a line down the centre of the room where the eye goes or start from a corner?
-
• #41242
always centred on room (joint or centre of tile) and work out if you have any small cuts and move accordingly. It makes it less obvious if room is not square.
done lots both in practice and as part of my job - architectural technician -

Thanks. The room is a weird L shape with two focus points, the french doors and then the range oven. Should I start a tile centred with them both?

Cork tiles? I AM FUCKING JEL.
-
• #41245
If I was you thats the way id do it. Put a set down the middle of it and then work off that at either side.
-
• #41246
how hard wearing/kid friendly are these?
-
• #41247
We had them growing up. They lasted through 4 kids and 15 years
-
• #41248
Are they from that place in croydon?
-
• #41249
Yeah. Siesta!
-
• #41250
Yes they are. I dreamed about these.
I've got two rolls of cork to go on a wall after I've bought a bookcase.
Cats and or Foxes using our front garden as a litter tray - is there a way to discourage this that's fairly simple and not equally disgusting?
