Difference in the UK is that it is unlike the US, it is unlikely that a mob outside parliment would have access to large quantities of guns.

Reckon if they looked Middle Eastern or were black, they wouldn’t have gotten so far.

I’d have thought that following the past 30 years of US history and the increased counter terrorism measures it would be a little more difficult to get in. I’m pretty sure it would be pretty difficult/next to impossible to get into the Palace of Westminster without some heavy duty hardware.
When the people hired to protect the capital/the people in charge of deploying the people hired to defend the capital are on the same side as the terrorists, those infrastructures fall apart yeah.
