I have some north face and birkenstocks - different types but both great

Haflinger clogs. Wool felt is warm in the winter, but cool enough to wear all year. I love them.

They have lined as well but I have these.

If only this bloody forum had a slippers thread, oh hang on a minute, it does!

I’ve asked for a proper pair of Yorkshire clogs for Christmas. Fingers crossed.

My William Lennon C2 cycle shoes arrived - ordered these back over the summer, as I wanted something with a lugged sole for hike-a-bike rough-stuffing. The finishing is rather nice - certainly less agricultural than my last pair from them - though for some reason one shoe has bright brass eyelets and the other has antique brass ones. It's not very obvious, and presumably it will even out with time.

Mm, like the looks of those.

Any recommendations for a stiff boot brush for cleaning dried mud off footwear? Supermarkets/Timpsons only seem to have soft brushes for polishing.

Also come with a zip bag, so very good for light touring
I took these on the Brian Chapman - being able to slip into these at the hostel was a blessed relief.

My Coop has a £1 shelf and I bought 3 wooden handle stiff bristle scrubbing brushes; intended for scrubbing floors as a prison punishment but ideal for getting dry muck off dirty boots and shoes. A clean one is good for brushing suede too. I clean the brushes with Muc-off!

I’ve had these boots for a while and would like to get the whole welt replaced. Can anyone recommend anywhere online?
Also I’m having some trouble with polishing. The toe and the heel panels come up OK but the sides are terrible. No uniformity in the colour at all.

Found this youtube channel that covers all sorts of stuff about shoes.
Quite interesting seeing him breaking down stuff.

Shoe healer in Doncaster changed dainite soles to ridgeway for me recently and they did an amazing job. Would definitely recommend them. Was £110 with shipping included.

£110!! These boots were only £50 so anything more than that I may as well get a new pair

I think they charge £180 for a welt change 😅
Tbh that welt looks fine, a decent cobbler will straighten it out again when you get a resole.

Blimey. They look like a good quality pair of leather lined boots. I was thinking Grenson. Got yourself a bargain at £50. My cobbler in Gloucester does a through leather sole and heel for £50 but then everything here is half the price of Londinium.

Hard to tell from photos, but it looks and sounds like they may have burnished toes and heals.
In which case making them uniform will be quite an involved process and requires making the rest darker.

I spent ages looking for a pair without burnished toes. As I don’t particularly like the look.
This is what they looked like originally. Over time I’ve obviously used the wrong polish

Hello, anyone interested in a brand new pair of Filson Service boots in brown roughout US size 11 (Uk size 10)? I was really excited to get these but they're about 0.5 to 1 size too big for me (I usually wear a size 9 UK in dress shoes for comparison so they'd probably suit someone who wears 9.5-10 UK). Looking for £260. You're saving 60USD in shipping and a load more in import duties. Can deliver at cost or pickup E7. They're a lovely heavy duty pair of boots so hope they can go to a good home. https://www.filson.com/men/footwear/boots/service-boots-2.html

I've managed to do this to my Redwings, no idea how. Can it be fixed? I was thinking of sending them back to be resoled after this winter anyway.

You could try glueing back down with shoe gloo. Or you might be able to get it patched over at a good cobbler.

Looking for some everyday brown (actually, just not black - oxblood would be nice too) boots... DM Pascals for a ton? Worth it?
Slightly put off by not being able to resole - or at least being led to believe it's a pain to do so (is this a falacy?). Not had DMs for a couple of decades. But they used to fit nicely after breaking in. No idea why I stopped?
